Ibrahim El Bouni vs. Stefan Latescu added.
Interesting matchup.

El Bouni is not the most exciting watch from what little I have seen, but he looks so calm and relaxed when he fights. He must feel confident fighting down like this. Not the most appealing run to a potential title shot.

El Bouni is a fun fighter, depending on which version of him shows up.
The first time I've seen him fight both his tentative and aggressive versions showed up on the same day.
It was at an 86kg A1 tournament in Eindhoven back in 2015; El Bouni won the first two fights by decision in pretty uneventful fashion. Then he came out gunning in the final against Ertugrul Bayrak, knocking him out in the first round.
Against Micheletti we didn't see the best El Bouni, but it can be argued that had to do with Micheletti's quality and fighting style.

Micheletti is so frustrating to watch lol. I have enjoyed every single fight I have ever seen of him, which is his entire Glory run. I notice whenever he actually comes forward, he gives his opponents some trouble, but he seems to want to move away and get picked apart.

Presser was okay. There were no technical issues for once and it had a couple of good moments.
The majority of press members that asked questions was terrible though. They either sounded like they spoke English for the first time in their life or made it painfully obvious that they have no clue about the sport.

Nothing Donegi Abena did came across as homosexual, yet Tarik Khababez started to homophobically bellyache about him lol. The only thing I hate more than Khababez is his fucking fans. Kickboxing fans are honestly some of the worst. Especially Moroccans. I know thats a horrible comment, but its always Moroccans. I have seen this dude, Tarik the Jeep, get beaten up and slept multiple times, yet they treat this dude like he is a killer. Same with Hari, except Hari was at least the third best kickboxer in his weight category in his prime. Always fell short when it mattered, but he at least can be called a great.

It's entirely possible I missed something, but I saw one post-presser interview with Khbabez and he didn't say anything I'd consider to be homophobic.
I'm paraphrasing, but it went something like this:
"You've pushed Donegi away, you don't like people getting into your personal space?"
"I don't like his attention hungry behaviour. He came close to me like he wanted to kiss me or something. There's no need for that. He can keep his distance, we can see each other."
Khbabez actually tends to be quite polite in interviews and he usually doesn't badmouth his opponents unless they've disrespected him. Or at least until he feels they did. And that's where - I feel - his weakness lies. For someone in the fight business he is way too easily offended. He also tends to come up with excuses for his losses; bad preparation, injuries, someone screwed him over, he was winning until he got caught etc.
But then, none of us are perfect and those really aren't the worst of character flaws, nor do I feel they justify any hatred towards him.
When we look at his achievements, he may not be the killer Hari was at one point, but if he manages to beat Abena he will have achieved something Hari never did: win a meaningful title. We can argue about Glory's questionable ranking and favoritism of who gets chances and who doesn't, but you still have to win when it matters. As for me personally, I think Khbabez is a fun fighter to have in the division. He always goes forward and the only way to get him off you is to put him down.
As for Moroccan fans, unfortunately that group does have some terrible ones. Like with most communities I don't think the obnoxious fanboys are representative of Moroccan fans in general, but it is definitely a very loud minority.
I have a bunch of Moroccan friends, but the ones that are Badr fans aren't the obnoxious type you can hear booing through entire events, nor are they the keyboard warrior types so I know from experience they aren't all like that.
I think those Badr Army type fanboys aren't even fans of the sport; they are fans of Badr specifically and/or just looking for an excuse to wave the flag and cause trouble. It's not different from hooligans in other sports nor is it exclusive to Moroccans. My personal worst experience was the Amsterdam crowd during the K-1 Grand Prix there between 2006-2008: these events were some of the best experiences I've had attending live events, but man the crowd was absolutely awful. 18.000 of some of the most boorish, obnoxious people you can fill out an arena with. And that was a very mixed ethnicity crowd that probably consisted for the most part of native Dutchies.
There are multiple underlying socio-economic correlations to dig into for anyone interested in further investigating the phenomenon of (bad) fandoms, but my own simple take is this one: sports empower tribalism and due to their very nature fight sports tend to attract trash.

I guess my definition of homophobia is different to yours then. What did Donegi do that his mind went straight to that? How deep in the closet is he to think that is a comment I read on Instagram and I happened to think the same thing.
He's a scrub imo. He seemed to have some good wins about 7 years ago. I never saw that run though and have no real interest in exploring it. I suppose his comical style and losing every time he steps up nowadays is why I can't take him serious.
If he wins, I doubt I will give him props lol. I genuinely have no love for this guy. Or his fans. Yes, I am being irrational.
