Didn't have the time to tune in to this, but some surprising results here and there.
How was it? Were the decisions okay?

Yeah, some upsets on this one. Decisions were pretty legit in my opinion. The fighters that lost definitely lost. 

I was pretty impressed with Feng's KO of Wajima, he dominated right from the start. Had never seen him fight before, but I think he is from the Wulinfeng promotion which I used to follow years ago, but have not watched any of their fights in years. He looks to be a strong fighter.

Shintaro vs Toy was one of those "could have gone either way" decisions, but Shintaro was in this one the whole fight unlike the last one that ended in a quick KO. Toy was extremely upset at the decision, but it was a very close fight and the decision went to the "oja".

Pettas looked rusty after not having fought since September of 2022. He apparently had some sort of hand injury.

Liu looked sharp vs Tanigawa, but Tanigawa is just too small to fight at cruiserweight. He looked to be in good shape without the little bit of "spare tire" around the mid section he usually carries, but should consider fighting in a lower weight division. Liu called out Sina Karimian and I want to see it happen.

Kana got beat straight up. She had nothing for Prifti. Right after the decision was announced Kana slumped to her knees and buried her face into the canvas. Her corner came and picked her up, was not a good look for her.

Agree with you guys about Hoshi, no killer instinct here at all.

Was surprised to see Oiwa KO Shinohara. Good for him.

Cheetah's once mighty chin appears to be gone. He was getting rocked by shots he used to take with no problem in the not too distant past. Kimura was hitting him with some bombs and he was shaking everything off like it was nothing in their fight a few years back. He's suffered some pretty brutal KO's from Pikeur and Jomthong pretty recently too.

In the prelim fights, I was pretty impressed with this 17 year old kid Matsumoto Haruto. IMO he might have what it takes to be a future star.

All in all it was a pretty entertaining event with lots of upsets and surprises. Was glad to see Takeru out there cornering for his buddies Oiwa and Matsukura. I think he was in tears after Matsukura's win.

I don't think killer instinct is Hoshi's problem. It's his complete lack of defence and spacing. He actually has a decent little jab when he uses it. He loves to just walk into range or straight up into a clinch, which is where Yamaguchi kept hurting him. He has a very leaky guard, and sometimes no guard at all, and also does not recover when he's hurt. He is a physical specimen and looks good facially. He's very marketable.. alas, he is not very good. I wonder if he would've won an Akira Jr. matchup, if he instead was offered that fight instead of the slaughter he experienced against Budiao. I'm beginning to think not.

Not a fan of Ce copying Pereira's hunter gimmick, but I do like him. I have been wanting the Karimian fight since September. Sattari has also recently called for a title shot. I like Mahmoud, but myself and a lot of Japanese fans of his are wanting him to go to Rizin. The K-1 dream is over. He also doesn't deserve a title fight at this point.

Japanese fans actually thought Toy won the fight. I didn't see it so I can't comment. A lot of them are also beginning to suspect Kaneko is on steroids lol. I have been surprised at the growing suspicions online. I am assuming Kaneko mustn't be as popular as perhaps I thought. I know K-1's X posts about him got no traction when I looked hours ago.

Pettas was getting clowned online by fans. He has apparently been calling out Takeru, Kouzi before this fight and said he would win this easy.

Not sure about the first 3 rounds, but the 4th round definitelly was Toy's.

Finally watched the whole thing yesterday. It took all day which is why I've been putting it off lol.

This was a solid card with some great fights and finishes, just should have been half the size it was.
They literally could have spread this out over 2 decent events.

Not gonna do a whole review, because I don't think it's as relevant at this point anymore.
Some thoughts that come to mind is that I was surprised about there being international referees, I can't recall the first ReBirth card having that. Also thought all decisions were fair, even the Toy/Matsukura was competitive enough where a good case could be made either way. Cool to see Takeru getting all emotional for his buddies winning, seems like a good guy and I just thought what a shame it is he lost to Superlek like that.

The main critique about these events I keep coming back to is that they're entirely too long. 10-15 fights is the sweet spot. Surprisingly, Glory has actually been moving into that direction when their events didn't have enough fights on them.

ReBirth 1 went in the right direction, but now we're in the well-over-20-fights zone again. It seems so easy: half the size, twice the events. Few things help a promotion gaining traction as much as just regularly putting on events.

Aside from that though, solid season closer.
