Im really interested in both the Esparza v Jędrzejczyk fight as its going to be striker v wrestler and the Overeem v Nelson fight as its going to be Overhand right v Clinch and knee.
I like Dos Anjos as a fighter but as good as he is I think Petis is the new Anderson Silva.

He also almost got knocked out in the end. If he really fights JDS next he's going to get knocked out. I hate to say that though, because when he got signed by the UFC, I was like "Overrem is gonna beat JDS".

Sure, but Nelson can knock anyone in the division out with one punch other than Hunt and JDS.
Having said that I wouldn't put my money on Overeem against JDS either at this point.

I think he looked in good physical shape actually. Also good cardio. What I doubt with him is his confidence/heart and his chin.

Oh, you already pointed out that he looked sharp lol. So yeah, I agree.

His chin will always be in doubt, but to me that's not the real issue. I think it's the lack of heart he shows once he gets hit.
It was less of an issue back when he was UBEReem simply because he was such an overwhelming physical monster, but now that he has a more natural body he became more human and his weaknesses are more apparent.
Having said that I was pleasantly suprised he didn't fold whenever Nelson tagged him.

I really don't think Winklejohn's style of striking suits Overeem at all. In the Nelson fight he completely avoided probably his greatest strength, the clinch, and kept Roy at his most dangerous range with the oblique kicks while only throwing single strikes.
Obviously Nelson and JDS are different opponents, but if he fights JDS with a similar gameplan he's in big trouble if he doesn't get a solid body kick in early.

I was also surprised at the lack of clinch when reem fought. but the fact roy hit him pretty decent and didn't end him was also surprising. it was a different reem. is it enough to rise in the rankings to fight for the belt? ehh.... gotta see him fight someone else. JDS fight is perfect. that would give us a definite yes or no on that.
