Have you seen him in the vids building up last weekends event? Cowboy can't sit still for a fucking second. After seeing how active he is in his free time it's no surprise to me he jumped at the chance for this fight.

UFC never told Bendo about the opponent change. apparently still haven't talked to him...
“I did not know Alvarez was hurt at all; I was not aware until Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone himself texted me. He hits me up and says, ‘Nothing personal, just business.’ I was like, ‘What are you talking about, man?’ He said to go online and on social media. I got on there and saw the news. I was like, ‘Oh, I see what you’re saying. I’ll see you in a couple weeks. I wasn’t given a heads-up, UFC didn’t call me, and they didn’t call my manager. They didn’t ask me, and I’ve still not talked to any UFC person about switching my opponent. I found out through social media, but I was down as soon as ‘Cowboy’ texted me.”

That's pretty shitty. They probably were afraid of another Jones/Sonnen situation, so they thought that if they announce it first, Bendo couldn't refuse to take the fight. I mean, how hard can it be to contact your former LW champ about a change of opponents?

has anybody fought back to back that quick before? at least in the UFC? Yes, all the tournament fighters back in the day. Seriously though, as far as modern MMA goes: Leben fought and submitted Akiyama only 14 days after TKO'ing Aaron Simpson. When Cowboy will fight Bendo it will be 15 days. ^^ Fight Finder ftw. But that came immediately to mind when you asked that question.

Ah, I just read this on MMA Junkie:
Cerrone competes 15 days after his UFC 182 victory over Myles Jury, the fourth fastest turnaround in UFC history (Chas Skelly, 13 days; Chris Leben, 14 days; Dustin Pague, 14 days). He’s the first fighter to make two octagon appearances in 2015.
So there goes your question^^
