Since fighting at LHW this is probably ( if he gets to fight Saki that is) the first time that Spong will be the underdog. Even after waiting all this time this tournament is the one Ive most looked forward to watching since the demise of the old K1 Grand Prix Finals in 2010.

I'm not sure I view Spong as an underdog even if he meets Saki. Saki looked questionable in his last fight, while Spong has been tearing it up. I've never been this confident in Spong's ability since he moved up in weight.

I think there would be a lot of fans who could argue that Spong is the favorite and also a large number who could argue that Saki is. I think that this is one of the reasons that this Tournament is so interesting. People are going to look at Saki and think that he is a natural LHW who even as a Heavyweight was top 2. Whereas Spong is a natural LHW who as a heavyweight was probably only top 6. Its when you look at the stats like this and the great fight they had as Heavyweights that you see the possibilities that this fight has. It would probably be better to have them fight a one off fight against each other. But I'm not grumbling about seeing Carnage and Cavalari showing their skills. Roll on Saturday night!!

If I ever end up quitting Kickboxing, it'll be because of guys like Badr Hari and Gokhan Saki. That's not something I'd express on LK or anywhere else, but it's true.
I was never a huge Spong fan but I've really come around on him of late. When I interviewed him I did my best to steer him away from talking about Tarik and his uncle, but he went there anyway. It's very much on his mind. Spong is also super, super pissed off about Saki getting a shot at the championship over Danyo Ilunga.

I can understand the dislike that people have for Badr and the bad name that he brought to Kickboxing. With regards to Saki, I like him, besides the incident against Verhoeven, even though Saki had a valid point regarding the alleged knockdown. He dealt with it in a very unprofessional way. Otherwise Ive not got a problem with him. Maybe some of you guys have more experience with Saki regarding interviews and the like which gives you a different view of him. With regards to Spong I like his fight style and he seems charismatic, he appears to be a well rounded person as well as a fighter. A good choice by Glory to be a poster boy for their organisation.
