 Hans Nijman (right in the picture) former fighter, co-owner of Top Team Beverwijk and cornerman of many fighters in recent years has been shot to death in his car, right in front of the gym. I saw a post om FB that he was deceased and I knew immediately it was a liquidation. So not a surprise to read I was right (unfortunately).

Glory has updated their ranking : linkLOL, kharitonov is Number 2. Boy, I am a big kharitonov fan, but to put him so high it's madness. Even a 5 years old kid can make much better rankings than glory 'experts". I had a really good laugh for today. |

Al F'n Wichgers. Again. The man is a bane to combat sports. Joop was incompetent, Wichgers is lethal, which is one word that should never be used to describe an official. I had never before seen a referee turn his back and neglect a prone, beaten and possibly unconscious fighter (Wichgers wouldn't have known as he hadn't bothered to check) in favour of completing a full circle around the ring waving his hands in order to inform those in attendance that the fight was indeed over until I had the displeasure of seeing him officiate.
RIP Mr. Munson Jr. His heart and bravery in competing was far greater than the competency and care displayed by those who should have been protecting him, from both the event's regulators and those within his own team.

Man, there's actually lots of events happening this weekend.
Sure none of them have a really stacked card, but there's at least an interesting fight or two on each one.
