Apparently the Main Event of GLORY 17 - LOS ANGELES will feature CroCop. Obviously they're banking on his UFC fame carrying over.

Round 1: Barry starts strong with a wild flurry, but as soon as Mwekassa shows his power Barry looks intimidated. Barry gets tagged a few times and goes down. He gets up, but Mwekassa ceases the moment and knocks Barry out with another flurry.
Keep in mind that Mwekassa looks a lot smaller than even Barry who isn't a large Heavyweight.
Mwekassa wins by KO R1, not surprising at all even though it could've gone either way on paper.
So much for Pat Barry's return to kickboxing. He just got blown out by a blown up middleweight.

HW Contender Tournament Final - Zimmerman VS Silva
I like Silva, but Zimmerman winning this seems like a no-brainer at this point.

Round 1: Zimmerman drops Silva with a big knee to the face. Silva beats the count. Zimmerman comes in with a wild flurry that puts Silva down for a second time. Silva beats the count once more. Both fighters trade shots now. Just when it looks like Silva might survive the round Zimmerman knocks him down again, this time with a knee-punch combination.
Zimmerman wins by TKO R1 and thus wins the HW Contender Tournament. This will probably make him the first challenger to the champion that will be determined in the Ghita-Verhoeven rematch.

Zimmerman in tears, talking about how he misses Ramon Dekkers and dedicating the tournament victory to Dekkers and Cor Hemmers. This was actually nice.
So yeah, they immediately update the rankings, hold on to your seats:
Silva is now ranked #4 Zimmerman is now ranked #5
Yeah... makes SENSE!

On to the Main Event:
Welterweight Championship Bout - Marc De Bonte VS Karapet Karapetyan
This should bring us the technical portion.

I think Karapetyan's walkout music is the same Petrosyan uses, no?

Round 1: Lots of feeling out. De Bonte scores with a lot of lowkicks and even though some are blocked by Karapetyan it looks like De Bonte is definitely the faster fighter.

Round 2: Karapetyan hits De Bonte with a groin shot. Fight continues. Karapetyan trying to be the aggressor now, but he's not as sharp as De Bonte. De Bonte takes over again with 1-2 punch combinations followed up by lowkicks. Karapetyan claiming the center of the ring again. De Bonte tries a flying knee, but gets countered by Karapetyan's punch. It's clearly getting more fierce now.

Round 3: Lots of lowkicks, measuring and feints in this round by both fighters. I feel like DeBonte has a slight advantage thus far, but it's still pretty even.
We're moving to the championship rounds.

Round 4: Karapetyan letting his hands go a bit more in this round while De Bonte tries to pick the smarter shots. This fight is pretty much a game of chess and the crowd can't really appreciate it. They liked the 'barfights' better.
