I thought arlovski would for sure put mir out quick but man that was the worst fight of the night. that fight was like THE ONLY real reason I wanted to watch. oh and Anthony Johnson too cuz he almost always brutally finishes someone or gasses out trying and gets finished himself. I can at least respect that hes always trying to kill someone when hes in there.

I was barely paying attention to the Mir/Arlovski fight, but from what I saw I thought Mir might've pulled it off.
Whatever, there were no winners concerning that fight. lol

Prelims were great stuff including a genuinely wild Round Of The Year/Fight Of The Year candidate between Frankie Rivera and John Lineker, the highly watchable Pearson-Felder fight and a questionable DQ win for Joe Riggs which could provoke a debate that deserves a thread to itself.
The main card was just blah. PVZ's momemntum kept up, Jan Blachowicz was a let-down, Rumble probably knocked Manuwa back onto the co-main/main spot of Euro cards for the forseeable, Arlovski and Mir were unable to keep up their combined Indian summer in a fight so dull that it ended up as a kind of white noise and Dodson found himself handcuffed by the footwork of DJ in a performance by the champion that was good to watch for the first 2 rounds but after the allotted 25, it did grow tiresome.

that's just it. DJ dominated. he didn't suck. but that fight ended up sucking because Dodson had absolutely nothing. and that could be all credit in the world to DJ for neutralizing him. I hate criticizing the dude because hes so good. but he outclasses everybody by miles and it gets tiresome. nobody in that division has anything for him. hes going to rack up 361 title defenses and nobody will notice or care.
now if he was doing it like Rousey and outclassing his division by finishing everybody in the first round.... he would have more buzz. but that isn't whats happening. so you can pretty much just take a nap and know DJ Won 50-45 on all cards.

I wouldn't say that. He has been a good finisher lately. He finished 4 out out of his last 6 fights. He's running out of contenders though.

You're breaking my heart, h. I could go my whole life just continuing to watch DJ decision people (though as kenshin says that's really a bit of a misconception). Ronda crushing cans like it's going out of fashion though, no thanks.

I think a lot of people just don't enjoy seeing really small guys compete.

It's the fact I know both are you right that gets me down. Personally the way the lighter weights fight is the style of MMA I like most. It's why when I first got into MMA I became a big JMMA fan. But I know that's not the case for the most.

But who is the next contender though? Maybe that Olympic Wrestler, Cujedo or something? Or maybe Faber should try to drop to that class. That would be acutally entertaining.
