I just watched Dawn of the Plant of the Apes, and man, that was a fantastic movie all-around. It might even become one of my favourites. I liked the sequel, too, but this one was even better. 10/10
Has anybody watched the series Penny Dreadful already? I just started the second season an I really like this show.

I absolutely love the new Apes movies. I'm still undecided which one I like better, Rise or Dawn, but they are both fantastic films.
Have you seen the original Planet Of The Apes films? If you haven't I'd say you should definitely at least watch the first one as it's a very intelligent film.
I haven't watched Penny Dreadful. There's a lot of shows I want to give a chance, but there's so much stuff I watch already it's getting hard to keep up with and distinguish all the storylines after a certain point.

Seems that Suicide Squad is badly reviewed by the critics. Oh man, I was pretty hyped for this movie by my standarts

I got back from an advanced screening of Suicide Squad a few hours ago and I must say that I really liked it.
It's not a perfect movie by any means as it suffers from some sloppy editing (my guess would be studio intereference) and the villain being a bit weak, serving more as a plot device than a memorable bad guy.
Having said that the pros definitely outweigh the cons for me and there's a lot of fun to be had with this visually stunning film.
Generally speaking, movies from the DC Extended Universe are terribly divisive and unfairly under much more scrutiny than, say, movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A lot of it comes down to fanboy culture and, at least to some degree, critics not exactly being neutral either. Nowadays it's hip to be a negative keyboard troll and clickbait bloggers milk that to the max.
As for me, I love both DC and Marvel and want all those properties to do well and keep bringing me joy.
Try not to be bummed out by negative reviews and get caught up in all the political bullshit that comes with it. If you're interested in a movie you should always at least give it a fair chance. You might end up hating it, but you might end up enjoying or even loving it. Just form your own opinion as that's the one that counts the most.
If you want a fair non-spoiler review for Suicide Squad by a fun panel watch below video.
(Their YouTube channel is great for movie news btw)
