Anthony Joshua wasted no time in getting rid of what was hyped as his biggest test to date, knocking out fellow unbeaten heavyweight prospect Gary Cornish in the first round with two knockdowns to move to 14-0, all wins by stoppage.

Joshua put Cornish down on a counter right hand in about 50 seconds. Cornish (21-1, 12 KO) got up but was on unsteady legs, and Joshua finished him about 30 seconds later, with an official time of 1:37. Joshua is now the Commonwealth heavyweight champion, as well, his first notable title in pro boxing.

At 14 fights now, Joshua has yet to meet anyone who has been able to handle his power for more than two rounds and change, and we've still learned little about what he can take in return. But we know he can be a devastating puncher, and that's a good enough reason to get excited.

Undercard Results

Dillian Whyte (16-0, 13 KO) stopped Brian Minto (41-10, 26 KO) in three rounds to secure his fight later this year with former amateur rival Joshua, which should generate some big domestic buzz.

John Wayne Hibbert (16-3, 10 KO) picked up a stunning win over Dave Ryan (17-9, 4 KO) in their fourth bout, but didn't get it the way he would have liked. Hibbert won when Ryan injured his back, after most everyone believed that Ryan had won the entire fight, which was stopped in the 10th round. Hibbert's celebration put off a lot of fans on social media.
