While that was a spectacular KO and I like Page as a fighter, I hope he feels like a dick for celebrating like he did after injuring his opponent like that.

I haven't watched this event yet and I'm not sure that I want to. Cyborg, a near 40yo man who's "combat age" has a few more years on it than 40 (he's been having back and forth hard fights since his days as a Chute Boxe "B" team member as far back as 2003), who should have been serving a medical suspension of 90 days after suffering an inside the distance loss on May 14th (!) was offered a fight with, not just any fighter, but as versatile a striker as Page.
Page's original opponent was scheduled to be Fernando Gonzalez, but he had to pull out due to "visa issues" (read: criminal record and he couldn't travel) so they called in, of all people, Cyborg.
As for Page, he has to face off with someone who isn't the equivalent of a 33/1 outsider sometime in the next 5 years, doesn't he?
As for Cyborg, I hope he makes as full a recovery as possible and with his career 99% sure of being done, I hope he puts all thought of fighting again to the back of his mind (as you just can't rule out some scumfu*k of a money hungry "promotion" somewhere on the planet that would be operating without regulation offering a down on his luck Cyborg some kind of fight in a year's time).
This event had some kind of curse on it: Kimbo dies, Koscheck pulls out again and retires, tonnes of tickets left, though I'm not surprised with the prices they were charging, Cyborg cracked his skull and to top it all off Daley, as he always seems to do, lost when it mattered.

I would guess the reason that they couldn't/wouldn't postpone it is threefold. If they postponed the event, the 02 probably wouldn't have offered them another date as it's not a particularly good look for the first time you have an event at such a big venue that you have to postpone, the 02 is one of the most used and requested arenas for entertainers in Europe and getting a date is said to be quite difficult and had they have postponed then I doubt they would have even been offered another one. And thirdly, I remember reading that because of the amount of acts that use it, the deposit for a show at the 02 is absurdly high and, reading between the lines, it looks to me that the cash splurge that SPIKE once showered upon Bellator is drying up, so I'm guessing they simply had to go through with it.
When boxing promoter Eddie Hearn booked Wembley Stadium for a fight in 2014, the deposit was over $1m for 4-5 mths in advance. Admittedly, it is Wembley and it does hold 90,000 but that gives you something of an idea as to how much the "name" venues ask for in advance. Barclays Center in Brooklyn has a sliding scale for their advances, anything from $100k-$500k for combat sports.
You're right though, h. They are desperate for whatever they can get and 10,000 for a show in Europe (they had that rotten event in Italy earlier in the year as well) puts more in the coffers than the 2,000 they pull in at Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, OK.
