Wow, Don't know about you but, man, I was DYING to know who broke this news first!!! As important, if not more so, than the fight itself actually happening. Walshie, do you put yourself over every time you break some news? Absolutely. How else will people know that I know more than they do?

Guys I'm scared. I'm starting to get genuinely excited for this event, but KB has hurt me so many times before. I don't know if I can muster the courage to hype again.
In the interest of controlling expectations, let's take bets on the specific way in which this thing ends up blowing up in our face
a. Rico gets KO'd by Braddock Silva at Glory 33 b. Badr gets arrested for assaulting another hotel clerk c. Badr gets arrested for possession of PEDs or cocaine d. Badr doesn't get arrested at all, but he pulls out for no good reason whatsoever. Rico later reveals a phonecall of Mike Passenier encouraging him to pull out e. The fight happens, but Badr gets frustrated after 2Rs and throws Rico to the ground and stomps his head into the canvas f. The fight happens, and Badr somehow captures a fraction of his 2009 thunder and catches Rico. He goes on to lose to a bloated MW in Chechnya, thus dooming the HW linear title to chaos

Personally, I'm liking A and D but we can't rule out Hari's legal team conveniently forgetting about some trial/hearing that is scheduled a day before the bout with Verhoeven, and that Hari simply cannot postpone or, his old fail-safe, insisting on a change of opponent two hours before bell time.
Also, as it's a big fight, and one he is likely to lose, he could pull a play from the CroCop playbook circa Dynamite 2002 and arrive at the venue, see how many people are in attendance and demand double his purse or he's going home. But if GLORY agree, I could see Hari leaving anyway. "MIKE!!!! They weren't supposed to say bloody YES!!!"

I'm wondering how much did this fight put Glory in the red and if it's enough to kill and bury them

My guess? Pierre fronted the money for this fight. That comes, in part, from the fact that he went to the press about it and that the rest of the team wasn't exactly prepared for it to get out just yet.

Maybe I'm just getting old and curmudgeonly but I don't feel anything about this fight, no excitement. I can't remember the last time Badr was actually a big deal, even his rabid fanbase seems silent these days.

I think it's something Glory as a bigger stage can sell much better than whatever promotions Hari has fought his last fights in though. Still the winner from all this is Rico and not Glory as far as I can see anyway. "MIKE!!!! They weren't supposed to say bloody YES!!!" At least it's within EU and not in some dictatorship or something. Should be easier to have enforceable contracts.

So ticket sales have kicked off and the prices are pretty insane:
"Platinum" Seat: €1002 - $1122
"Gold" Seat: €502 - $563
"Silver" Seat: €252 - $282
"Bronze" Seat: €202 - $226
"Iron" Seat: €177 - $198
"Rank 1" Seat: €152 - $170
"Rank 2" Seat: €127 - $142
"Rank 3" Seat: €102 - $114
"Rank 4" Seat: €62 - $69
I have my doubts about the seat/view quality of the cheapest option, which is not a good thing when you're paying 60-70 bucks just to get in. I wonder if the full card will be worth it, ultimately.
Also, from what I'm reading on MixFight, Nieky Holzken is fighting Cédric Doumbé. I guess it depends on what happens against Groenhart though.

Disappointed they didn't carry on their elemental pricing theme and offer a "copper" seating plan.
I think top whack seats for UFC @ MSG are $1506, just for comparison. The show that is being called in some quarters the best UFC card of all time.

Just a funny comparison, we had VIP seats at the K-1 WGP in Zagreb for €100 / $110 a pop and the local Croatians thought that was an 'insanely high amount'.
Also, apparently Ziggo Sports acquired the rights to air this event in Holland. Will this not air on Spike at all? I wonder.
