Video of assault on Shemsi Beqiri earlier this year

Whoever has been keeping up with our News & Rumors Thread knows that earlier this year there have been reports of Shemsi Beqiri being assaulted in his Gym by his former trainer turned rival Paulo Balicha.

To give a quick summarization of events; just a few years ago Beqiri split with his Trainer Balicha to open his own Gym. There was bad blood between the two and there have been some alleged incidents and scuffles after Beqiri opened his own Gym. Balicha started to openly challenge Beqiri to a fight that never happened. On to February 24th of this year. Balicha - along with 20 armed and hooded men - stormed Beqiri's gym to challenge him to a fight while having Beqiri's younger brother held at gunpoint. Take note that there were also women and children in the gym while this took place. One of the assailants filmed the fight that ensued between Beqiri and Balicha to capture what was sure to be Balicha's victory over his hated rival Beqiri. As soon as Beqiri started winning the fight he was jumped by the hooded men and beaten up with sticks and baseball bats, leaving him injured. The assailant who filmed the whole thing dropped and forgot the camera during the scuffle and now the footage is being used as one of the main pieces of evidence. The incident scared away most of Beqiri's gym members and he might have to close it down soon, Balicha having reached his goal.

The actual fight starts at 07:30. It's pretty eerie, considering the circumstances. Very tragic story.

This is easily the most bizarre video I've seen in years of watching kickboxing. The Kimbo Slice boatyard fight dynamic in the middle of a hostage situation is crazy.

They arrive en masse.

Their faces are disguised.

They are carrying weapons.

They hold the other combatant's relative as a hostage. At gunpoint.

One Balicha schmuck appears to appoint himself the de facto ref for the fight.

Balicha looks very keen on taking the fight to the ground, despite their beef being in the realms of stand up fighting and the showdown being held in a kickboxing gym (?).

All of the above stack the odds absurdly in Balicha's favour and yet, he still manages to get his rear handed back to him. I'm sure you see the coward wave his thugs in to attack when Shemsi is smashing him at the end of the fight.

This is absolutely vile.
