yes now is the time. 72 hrs after the most vicious ko hes ever taken. and hes been ko'd 167 times. Not saying they fight tomorrow. But book the fight ASAP and do it in the summer. Overeem is far from shot, especially compared to Bigfoot, etc. There's also zero competition in Glory's heavyweight division. Who knows if a guy like Wilnis will return and there's such an uninspired logjam. If they're gonna book guys like Camozzi and Silva just like.. At least get someone legit. it would be great if he changed his hand and went back to kickboxing. but id like to see reem take 12 consecutive months off. take an entire year off before you go and do that. clear his head. recharge. refresh. and then sure come on back. he not only needs but deserves a break from competition with as much as hes been out there and the damage hes taken. that's really the only reason i replied that way. he needs to step back and take a breather.

Jokes aside, I would hate for the very next fight after Overeem getting murdered being him taking on Rico. Even if it'd be this time next year.
If he somehow won it'd make Rico and the whole heavyweight division look like a joke. I don't care that Alistair has a K-1 title, he didn't compete in kickboxing since 2010 and has been a full time MMA fighter for 7 years at this point. And then there's the fact that Alistair has been on the receiving end of some horrible knockouts in MMA - especially the latest one - and his next fight being against the 'king of striking' in a sport he hasn't competed in for 7+ years doesn't exactly sound like a smart idea.
Now, if he'd cut ties with the UFC, slowly returned to kickboxing and had a couple of EASY buildup fights first it'd be a different story and something I could get behind.

It'd be nice if he did come off a win to then fight kb, buuut...think 1 win would probably put him close to a UFC title shot again so he'd just keep chasing that. Whatever truth there is to a possibility of Rico-Reem think Glory has to take it at any point they could possibly get it done.

Enfusion double show tomorrow. 72kg one night 8-man. Lineup changed a ton from what it was supposed to be months ago but should be fun.
Think it airs live on boxnation, xsport in ukr/rus and on combate in brazil wink wink nudge nudge if you catch my drift and so on and so forth.

72Kg Tournament Final Endy Semeleer (The Netherlands) def. Superbon Banchamek (Thailand) by Decision
He also beat Diogo Calado and Mohamed Khamal leading up to the final.
Bon got a bit fucked in his semifinal when the fight went to a completely unnecessary extra round. Wasted energy might've ended up costing him a €100k.
Really on the list of ~Enfusion fighters to win this tournament don't think this guy was even on it for much prior to this event. Jaraya, Ozcan, Ben Moh, Khamal...Laarkoubi...Calado. Bunch of injuries, replacements later...great night for the guy.

Gotta be honest, its sorta getting to the point where I get annoyed when I see casual fans asking for Bellakick results. There were loads of cards this weekend--not just Glory but tier 2 stuff like Enfusion, Knock Out, Krush, NJKF--that offered more entertainment and production value. But we're supposed to care about Bellakick cause it has the Coker name on it?
There's just a general feeling of disjointed "so what"ism about the thing. They technically have belts now, but there's no clear title contenders on the horizon. They have no tournaments to build up new talent. All their stars, who are good names on a one by one level, are spread across different weightclasses with no interaction. And literally none of this matters. They made a big whoop about getting Varga only for him to lose to some rando Hungarian dude. If this was Glory, Kunlun or K-1 Japan or anyone with a sense of continuity about them, they would capitalize by playing up the upset, talking up Varga's road to redemption, building up the underdog as a potential new star.
No such thing. Varga's just off to fight the next rando European. Kevin Ross wins his belt in a split vs some rando Italian? Eh, give him another rando Italian for him to lose by split decision to.

Bellator kickboxing just feels like one of those Coker things he does to make operations leaner, like when they have local guys selling their own tickets for the undercard, or borrow a guy from Japan. It doesn't feel like an actual kickboxing organisation and it's impossible to follow or care about. It's a shame too because they have some great talents but they're just sort of floating there in this timeless parallel dimension, like an untelevised European show in perpetuity.
