Cool bit of news from the past weekend that I almost forgot to share Manuel Charr defeats Alexander Ustinov for WBA World heavyweight titlewww.boxingnews24.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Ustrinov-v-charr1.jpgThis is a great comeback for a fighter who was TKO'd by Vitali Klitschko back in 2012 and since then has suffered some tough losses, was shot on the street in Germany back in 2015 and just came off serious hip replacement surgery. Earlier today there was some confusion about the German nationality of the Lebanon born boxer who dedicated this fight to the country that took him in as a refugee. He confirmed his German nationality on social media though, effectively making him the first German HW Boxing champion since Max Schmeling. The situation is a bit weird, because he is the WBA "regular" champion while Anthony Joshua is the "super" champion.

It's a bit like Glory having these unnecessary 'interim' champions.
