Decent card with lots of fights, but having Londt replaced by Douwes against Morosanu is really a shame.
Douwes vs Morosanu should be decent, but Londt vs Morosanu could've been really good.

On the other hand tickets go for under 40 bucks so I might go to this one as well..

Actually 25-30 fights on a card is not uncommon for fightcards in Holland, although it's usually only on local level cards. Bigger orgs usually trim it down to 15-20 fights total.

I like the card, giving a lot of fight opportunities to a lot of guys. Plus SuperKombat is considered a local brand in Romania so its great they are on the move internationally. They have left the country before, but going to Holland is a much bigger deal due to it being Holland

A quick review:

So I had a good time at the SuperKombat event yesterday. The venue was much nicer than the one in Eindhoven, but I'd guess there were around the same amount of people, which was around a thousand give or take.

There were not one, but two undercards here (TopSportCentrum Almere Line Up & SuperKombat New Heroes) and the undercards actually carried the best fights. Serginho Kruydenhof VS Onur Sahin and Kenneth Susanna VS Yakub Kaya were great to watch. Nigel van Dams: son of Clyde van Dams & nephew of Lloyd van Dams fought on the undercard as well, he carries the same genes as his relatives and looked out of shape, but could actually kick ass. He sat behind me after his fight and seemed like a nice guy and knowledgeable about the sport and its politics.

The main card was kinda hit and miss. Some of the fighters appearing there were headscratchers for me (Gurhan Degermenci). Dexter Suisse surprised me as he kinda looked like the token tomato can, but could actually fight. Cristian Spetcu VS Hamza Soesie was not a great fight, but Hamza Soesie's drunk Moroccan supporters sure acted like it was - Holland still has the worst crowds, second to none. The Clyde Brunswijk fight was fun. One of the guys I went to the event with is friends with Ali Cenik and said Ali was in no condition to take that fight. And boy did that show; Cenik was KO'd in horrible fashion and didn't wake up for a solid five minutes which was really scary and the crowd was very relieved once he finally woke up and stood up right. He still had to be carried to the backstage section once they got him out of the ring. Catalin Morosanu VS Brian Douwes was really fun early on, but went so-so as the fight wore on due to both fighters tiring out and clinching up a lot. Cool to see Morosanu win one while catching him live; so far he's 1-2 in events I've attended. lol

Some quick notes:
Remy Bonjasky Academy and Vos Gym provided a lot of fighters on the card and it was cool to see both Remy and Ivan Hyppolite very actively coaching their guys.

The DJ and two ring announces were terrible and made a lot of mistakes.

Lungu ref only reffed a handful of fights.

In conclusion it's funny how SuperKombat had superior production, but A1 had the better fights while being considered a much smaller promotion in the grand scheme of things. SuperKombat is more or less considered to be #3 in the world of kickboxing and I guess they are because they are consistent (despite them having much better events in 2011 and 2012) and have decent production values. However, there is still a HUGE gap between SuperKombat and even the watered down version of K-1 we've whitnessed recently, let alone Glory.
