Odds out. Anissa Meksen a slight underdog to Tiffany Van Soest. Both former UFC fighters are favorites over their opponents. I like Meksen at the opening price for the ladies title bout and both over 1½ rounds for Silva & Camozzi's bouts as even with favorable matchups, I don't think they are both going to blow their opponents out of the water early their pro kickboxing debuts with big gloves.

Anvar Boynazarov +120 Kevin VanNostrand -160 Boynazarov > VanNostrand You know, I am torn on that one because I really like VanNostrand's unconventional style and want to see him win. If he was the underdog I would have bet him for sure. Unders are always risky in kickboxing and I wish it was set higher at like 3½, but I might look at the under 2½ expecting a fast pace and stoppage one way or another.

There was a slight taped delay broadcast on Ziggo Sport at 5 am or something and I didn't feel like staying up for that, but good to see that overall it ended up being okay. I guess my no-watch-no-jinx trend continues..?
Good to read judges were on point, but sucks to see Barrett lose again. What the hell happened to him?

They fed Bigfoot to Rico and then Camozzi got the other end of the spectrum for his first fight. That was a terrible fight and although kb newbies shouldn't get fed to the best in their first fight they got to give him someone not making their Glory debut for the next fight.

Camozzi was given a guy that looked at least one weight class below him, if not two.
Sure, he looked good, but uhhh.
Thiago Silva got a guy that he couldn't just run through, which, noting how bad that dude's punches were (like looping in all of the wrong directions?!) I don't have a ton of hope for Thiago Silva, Kickboxer.

I'm watching the rerun on Ziggo Sport right now. Let's see what the fuss is about.

You know what? It was pretty good! While I'm still glad I didn't completely destroy my biorhythm by staying up to watch the live broadcast, it was a tasty saturday night snack.
Here's hoping next week will deliver as well.

I just caught up this afternoon. As far as I am concerned it turned out to be a very entertaining card with Glory's usual excellent production. Anissa Meksen who I backed heavily looked great in a competitive fight against Tiffany van Soest to become their new women's champion; both UFC veterans won victories that went past the middle of the second round- Camozzi's just barely- and the main event ended quickly as predicted. Beautiful knee to the liver by Kevin VanNostrand to stop Anvar Boynazarov in highlight reel fashion in round 1. I knew he had a real chance to win. My handicapping that I posted earlier in the thread paid off handsomely as I won every bet that I made too. :-)

I have to write that I didn't particularly enjoy this too much. Houghton, Banasiak, Weickhardt, Lemaire, Baker, Silva and King where in spots that they had no real reason being in. I understand that at least one of the previously listed was a late notice appointment but at least two more of them have now had several attempts and have shown that they are not at a level that I would consider GLORY standard.
The Camozzi fight was just plain uncomfortable. Mr Weickhardt was not only considerably outsized but the difference in abilities was apparent almost immediately, to a point where it appeared to me to be that of a man vs a boy. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Whoever made the match and approved it should consider themselves having dodged a diamond tipped bullet.
