The Venn Diagrams of pro-wrestling fans and Trump fans overlap like crazy. That's all you need to know in order to understand why MEN of Latin American origins tend to like Trump (not a majority, but a significant minority) despite all the racist insults spewed by the clown over the years, whereas WOMEN of Latin American origins absolutely despise him on average.
Those men just find him exciting and fun while expecting absolutely nothing decent from politics. That's just their cynicism at work.
But Trump must actually get their asses off the couch to the voting booth.

Republicans have already started doing shenanigans in an attempt to steal the election for Team Trump, and like I said, predictably, it's the right-wing judges that is leading the way.
Judicial terrorists.

Looks like COVID made its way to my office. A colleague and his family likely have it (a member of their family with whom they were regularly meeting was confirmed to have it) or so the symptoms would suggest. Other people also taking leave of absence. We'll see what comes out of it. Only 4 people at work today plus our boss (but well, it's a small desing office in the electrical engineering field, only 9-10 people). As for me, not feeling any worse than during a mild cold, health-wise speaking.

Other than that, it sucks to know how much of a wimp I've become during the last couple of years. Won't mind getting in a fight with a group of football ultras, getting beaten to a pulp or not, but talking to a girl I'm interested in seems like an unclimbable mountain right now :/ Yeah, pathetic, I know LoL

Ideally if there is a positive case at the office, everyone should get tested especially if it's a small office (because it's logistically easier, so why not). Office outbreaks are very very common, one of the top three in most countries. Offices are notoriously poorly-ventilated, or/and air-conditioned in a way that is perfect for SARS-CoV-2 to spread far and wide.
Not everyone infects others through normal activities, but the spreader type can almost reliably cause an office outbreak. All it takes is usually one such person.
So, yeah, it's entirely possible that you already have it, but given where most of us are at this point in the pandemic, everyone must pretty much assume they have it anyway especially if they are a young adult. And act accordingly.
Acting like a wimp for now wouldn't be too bad actually!

In order to keep it from exploding in three weeks, the US needs to mandate mask-wearing and do targeted temporary closure of indoor dining facilities/church services/gyms/etc. in hot spots at the very least. Even that probably wouldn't be quite enough.
But of course this administration would rather die than do any of those things. So our fate is pretty much sealed.
Stay safe, guys.

I probably should stop talking about anything "exploding" as if we weren't already in the middle of it.

The nature of the Trump presidency perfectly encapsulated in one incident.
It's almost beautiful with its symbolism.

I really fear that hospitals will be overrun in a few weeks in many countries without lockdown.
You probably didn't like my doom and gloom talks on the second wave all these weeks, but the thing is, it's probably going to be even worse than I expected.
There are just way too many infected people. I did talk about how quickly it spreads and high case numbers and all that back in August, but still didn't quite expect this scale all across Europe (kind of did with the US, though).
I mean, the numbers in France and Belgium are just ridiculous. I'm not saying that everyone else will follow in their footsteps. But there is no rational explanation for why Belgium has been hit so particularly hard again, and that probably means that could happen to anyone any day now. And frankly some countries are already there.

The outlook is quite bleak in Germany too. I'd expect the states to have to accept the federal measures with no more song and dance about "no sufficiently conclusive evidence."
With this virus, there's no such thing to begin with.

I still sometimes remember and think of the way Dana White bitched on and on about "Covid is fucking bad, and no one could've done any better than Donald! You can't just blame it on him! You are fucking unfair!" when so many leaders in so many different countries had their approval rates actually improved while their countries getting fucked over by Covid-19.
Even Pedro Sanchez's number went up even though it was quite clear that Spain fucked it up badly.
Hell, even Bolsonaro had a surge in popularity thanks to the financial rescue package.
But of course people like Dana White are utterly incapable of analyzing why their man sucked so badly.
Needless to say, that's not because Americans are "unfair."

A "night-time curfew" is such a waste of time. You either lock down, or don't.
Thoroughly half-assed. Ineffective as hell. It has been obvious from many examples.

Late by one week at least, but you can't blame Merkel for that. And I wouldn't even blame the regional governments. Lockdown is a hard sell now. Restaurants, bars, theaters, gyms, brothels, night clubs etc. - closed Takeaway/takeout - OK Schools and kindergartens - open Daycare - open Stores (with restrictions) , barber/hairdressers (with restrictions) - open For a month. Sounds sensible to me. Mostly up to date with the latest theories/science.

But Trump must actually get their asses off the couch to the voting booth. Reminds me of the wwe ceo/owner Vince McMahon, an ally of Trump whose wife is part of the administration. He has a rather similar "charm" as Trump as a rich narcissistic-extroverted guy with quite some entertainment talent.
From what I've seen in wrestling discussions, there's quite some controversy around McMahon - some people dislike him as an exploiter and some former people around him also describe him as a sadist who loves to embarrass people under him, meanwhile there are others who are in favour of him seeing him as an interesting character and some even are like cultists spending tons of time trying to spin everything in favour of him (slandering critics, misrepresenting stories and so on). Wonder if the latter are for a large part what this group is about.

Ideally we all should be tested as you write. Reality is that unless I have obvious symptoms I won't get tested unless I pay for it from my own pocket (and even then I can't be sure that, say, I wasn't tested with an expired test; yeah, that's actually more and more popular right now). So it is what it is.
