Nevada seems to suffer from California Disease. Doesn't seem to give a shit about counting ballots quickly EVEN WHEN it's a battleground state. It's so slow that it's absolutely ridiculous. It's a fucking tiny state. It should've finished counting ages ago. And Arizona isn't much better. Painfully slow, and they give us no goddamn useful information unlike Pennsylvania and Georgia. California disease. I'm pretty sure we'll learn the final result of California around February 2021 or something this time, again. Why is it taking so long? They don't hire enough counters? It gets real slow especially when they have to count mail ballots, because: They have to open up the envelopes; and verify the signature. But these are excuses. They are just slow. In many cases there are simply WAY too few election officials, which makes it humanly impossible to count them at a reasonable pace, with the officials utterly tired and stressed out. In California's case, they basically don't give a shit outside the districts where there's a competitive House race or something. Since it's always automatically Democratic for the president over there, they don't have any reason or feel any pressure to hurry up. It just becomes an afterthought pretty much. But you can see even with the pressure, they are fucking snails. We are supposed to interpret it as their being "extra careful" and "making sure everything is done properly." But for those of us who know or have participated in elections in other countries as well, it's all just a self-serving excuse. It's more than possible to make the process more efficient and faster. American elections are just run poorly, and that's ridiculous since these elections are basically Olympics on steroids in the US (the midterms are the Winter Olympics). But part of the reason, of course, is that the parties, overwhelmingly Republicans in the last several decades, just mess up the system in order to gain advantage, which obviously doesn't help.

This is BS. Provisional ballots will be pro-Biden if anything. They "skew Trump" because they've counted the ones from the Trump counties so far, dummy. And it's not even as "skew Trump" as the other ballots from those same counties.
Provisional ballots are probably less pro-Biden than the regular mail ballots, but many of them are from... Philadelphia, lol. In a few of the wards in that city, literally zero people voted for Trump.
Yet Trump would need them to be MASSIVELY PRO-TRUMP. Not going to happen.
If the reason for not calling Pennsylvania is the recount - which will never change the out come - fine. But this argument below has no legs in reality. Utter BS.

The longer it takes like this, the more the Trump cultists will be energized.
The cowardice of the networks is regrettable. They are clutching at straws NOT to call Pennsylvania, which is obviously Biden's.
If you call Pennsylvania, you have to call the election itself. They want to delay that as much as possible.

It's not going to happen in Arizona either. All the gains that Trump has made in Pinal aren't even remotely enough to make up for the deficit in Pima/Tucson, and Maricopa has been consistently "I don't particularly like you" to Trump. Nothing to erase the gap. Not going to happen. This:

They should call Nevada now too. Impossible for Trump.
They don't have to call Arizona yet, but Nevada is a done deal.
Sometimes "being super-careful" = denying reality.

A substantial percentage of the MAGA crowd GENUINELY believed that there were zero chances, literally zero, that their man loses the election, because: "Who the fuck would vote Biden!!!???!!?? I don't know a single fucking person who voted for that chid rapist!!!!!!!" And this hypothetical man lives in Pennsylvania, which Trump has lost.
You've heard about the libs' "overconfidence" because of the "polls" and so on, right?
That's nothing compared to the MAGA's.
Both of them live in their respective echo chambers. But if anything, the MAGA's is much, much more airtight and far more isolated from the rest of the world. The libs at least have a window or two in their chamber.
This result is highly upsetting for that kind of MAGA. Their worldview is fundamentally at odds with reality, but there are tens of millions of them.

Anyone who doesn't see it as Democrats' abject failure isn't a serious person. All they got is their presidential candidate barely winning against Donald Trump. They lost almost everything else.
The White House is only one part of US politics. Absolutely overrated in a way.
The country is very clearly going in the wrong direction regardless. "Wrong" in the sense of authoritarianism. Nearly half of American citizens seem ready to embrace an Erdogan. It's just that Donald was too big a fool to be that one.
But good enough to be the prelude. I always, always imagined what if it were Ivanka instead of Donald.

Dear American pundits, you really, really need to get out more. Way too parochial.
The world has been going in the authoritarian direction for a while now. Your country is nothing more or less than a part of that global trend.
Trump is very American, but there's nothing particularly American about the rise of Trump, or the mechanism thereof. It's just deja vu for those who've been around on this planet.
America is usually NOT the frontrunner. The US hasn't done anything as radical as Brexit (yet) for example. That's what so many Americans seem to fail to understand. That misguided American exceptionalism is even more toxic than the stupid MAGA slogans.

I repeat: It is impossible for Trump to win it. Impossible. Zero. Done. Over. Arizona is the only state that is sorta still in play. The rest are gone, and since PA is DEFINITELY gone, it's over. I'd repeat that as many times as you need. It's over.
But those fucking cowards never call the election, do they. They give you "provisional ballots skew Trump" nonsense instead. You've got a fucking large chunk of Philly votes left, and they still say that? Philly voted 81-18 for Biden you silly turd! In what world could those ballots ever "skew Trump," for fuck's sake. It's a preposterous idea, and they should know it.
This is exactly what Republicans wanted. Mission accomplished. Congrats, network people. You are easy marks for the Republicans.
Fucking cowards who NATURALLY don't mind getting ratings bump.

On the simplest possible terms, this election has shown: 1) Trump has become even more popular in the last four years; 2) Biden is a hell of a lot more popular than Hillary Clinton.
So, Clinton was a fatal mistake.

You should cry over your own ignorance and blindness. You thought it was Russians.
No matter how much you cry, many Americans like Trump. They are there, a huge number of them. Many of them are Latinos, blacks, even Asians. They crave for his kind of politics, and the Republicans will cater for them. You might as well face it, and try to actually fight that instead of amplifying week in week out whatever self-serving shit that comes out of the mouths of liberal elites.
On every single occasion where Fox News and Trump disagreed, a clear majority of Fox viewers sided with Trump. Chew on what that means.
I wouldn't go so far as to say you're somehow "responsible" for any of this. You aren't.
But you gotta be a fighter, man. Don't hide behind "American people." A substantial percentage of them would turn around and try to kill you.
You're frankly pathetic. I'm a sucker for a man crying in public, but this isn't it.

I've defended the poll aggregators/election forecasting models against stupid attacks, but they should at least stop coming up with the *probability/percentage* altogether. It's mathematically nonsense to begin with, and does much more harm than good since it does actually affect the turnout, a lot more on the "winning" side.
And it also affects the *discourse*, for the worse.
It would be fine if it were just a game played privately among friends. But they put those numbers up there in bold fonts.
They should just stop doing it. It's toxic.

A truly competent Trumpian leader would've acted a lot differently re: Covid-19 from the way Donald J. Trump did.
I'm not even talking about what they actually would've done. It's the gestures and attitude.
Donald J. Trump simply angered many people who were afraid. What a failure of a Trumpian man.
There are better Trumps out there.

It's pure malpractice not to have called Pennsylvania for Biden already. There's no fucking way for Trump. There never was!
There's no justification for the wait. None whatsoever. They should've called it many, many, many hours ago.
Those networks are fucking JOKES. Almost unbelievable.
I'm livid because these little things matter in the long run. I bet all of my property that there will be conspiracy theories around why the networks hesitated to call it for Biden for so long, despite the numbers saying they should, mostly in the Trumpian camp.
You know why? Because it appears weird = indeed fucking fishy. I know the real reasons for why they are like this, but most people don't.
Those networks just don't understand anything. They probably think that calling it for Biden "too soon" would arouse more suspicion among the Trumpians or something. They are clueless enough to think that, unfortunately.
