Boy was the "storm" a lot worse than we thought on that day. It's a small miracle that only one cop and one Q-MAGA died, with several cops seriously wounded.

I can personally vouch for the credibility of this now.

Back in the good old days, when there was reports of representatives in a Latin American country being forced to vote for a pension reform because of the death threats that they had received, the tone in the US media were full of "them Hispanic barbarians" kind of racist crap in a polite language.
Chickens coming home to roost.

Even in this situation, there is nothing intellectually less interesting in this world than the Psychology of A Hardcore Trump Worshipper.
They are just the 21st century version of the fucking Birchers who spend way too much time online. Nothing more needs to be said about the nincompoops. You look into void, and you'll see nothing. Who gives a shit.

Birchers believed Dwight Eisenhower was a communist mole. Many of them went to good schools.
There are always crazy Birchers. It's the question of whether you slip up and let them have a huge megaphone and big platform.
You gave them Trump and Facebook.

1,564 Covid deaths were reported in one day in the UK.
That's roughly equivalent to 7,500 deaths a day in the US.
Not a fair comparison of course given the difference in population density and all, but still.
Such a high number suggests it's not just very old people dying.

Another fucking stupid Republican who loves quoting Lincoln's second inaugural without ever reading the goddamn thing in its entirety. Lincoln meant almost the opposite of what this moron Scalise seems to think he did.
There must be a law to punish these fuckers. I just can't stand these Republicans.
How the hell can anyone be allowed to become a Republican without ever ACTUALLY reading Lincoln's goddamn second inaugural?
In it, Lincoln said this about the Confederate traitors.
This is fucking wrath; absolutely not what Scalise and other Republican fools think it is.

Lincoln never, EVER forgave the South. He was assassinated because the South knew that.

It doesn't need to be said, but getting impeached twice, in one term to boot, is an incredible achievement. Historic.

Tom Rice (R) voting for impeachment is genuinely surprising. I didn't expect that at all. Liz Cheney was surprising too, but he's even more so.

Hey, hope everybody had happy holidays and it's nice the thread is still active . Just two notes 1. The right-wing party in Germany AFD is trying to copy the Republicans, they are currently proclaiming election by mail is insecure and will be used for fraud against them 2. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey took some time for his statement on why he banned Trump, therefore he was successfully able to outdumb Zuckerberg and used that statement to advertise Bitcoin as the solution of our problems.

For Jack, everything is an excuse to promote Bitcoin. Insufferable guy, really.
As for the AfD, well, they have been a mess ever since the pandemic started, haven't they. Not that that's bad news at all; Their Tucker Carlson-like flip-flop act on Covid was almost amusing. But I think those who are predicting the collapse of the AfD are very much underestimating/misreading the mood of some German electorates. We'll see after we overcome this tough winter Covid wave.

But some good news. Our flower shop owner from Midland, Texas had a visitor. There are different shades of MAGA, and I find her type absolutely the worst. They speak exactly the same way; This creepy, daring, smug, pseudo-polite tone for feigning calmness and hiding the spite, anxiety and utter cluelessness brewing hot underneath. I have some tiny little sympathy for some types of MAGA, but absolutely zero for this type. The worst of American white upper-middle-class that is so, so, so, so full of themselves. Anyway, this is the statement of facts by the FBI for our Jenny.

Such perfect teeth. I'd be surprised if his parents didn't make more than $200k a year.
Yet he's an oppressed victim of a totalitarian state, amirite.
