The most plausible conspiracy theory is that McConnell and other GOP hands deliberately made the security around and at the Capitol loose and minimum hoping that there will be chaos that they can pin on Trump in order to purge him, and Dems like Schumer had been made aware of that too.
Of course I don't believe it, but far more plausible than the conspiracy theories on the election from the right. The theory has the same old glaring weakness of overrating the capabilities and guts of the players involved, but at least does follow the real D.C. power dynamics, whereas the MAGA/Republican conspiracies fail at all levels pretty much.

Sheldon Adelson died, and that will have some huge consequences, but it's too complicated for me to neatly sum up in one rant.
Well, I lied, I don't really know what the consequences will be. I can *guess*, though.
Some GOP old hands will make moves soon.

Like I said, "felony murder" too. Those who were at the Capitol, including the tourist types who didn't do anything particularly destructive, are absolutely fucked beyond their imagination.
EVERYONE will be charged, and many of them will spend a significant amount of time left in their lives in prison.

McConnell and Liz Cheney can huff and puff with the donors backing them, but Donald Trump is far more popular among the base than those two combined. You can destroy Parler, and good riddance to that poorly-coded shit platform for "CumDumpsters" and shit selfies, but no matter how hard the status quo scrambles to get the "normalcy" back, those MAGA people won't disappear. Donald Trump will continue to be their silly savior.
That will continue to be the bottom line, and the "normalcy" will continue to be an illusion. You should definitely understand the extent to which the likes of McConnell and his donors control things, and the power that the likes of Google and Facebook have. But you shouldn't overrate their might either. There are some things in this world that cannot be erased, that cannot be wished away.

I don't care about the capitol stormers. For me it was a fun thing to do... Certainly less harmful than people burning shit on the streets, looting honest business, breaking everything and demanding other people to say "black lives matters" even if they don't want to say it. But for the media is: -Some stupid people storming the capitol and breaking some windows: Dangerous far right Nazis. -People burning shit, stealing, looting, and bullying people on the streets: Social Warriors. Is funny. I didn't care who win the election, because both are horrible candidates. I was a little bit inclined for Trump because was the first American president in not starting a war in like 40 years or something. And Biden for sure is going to bomb the shit out of Iran or some other middle east country(ies). So Trump is better than Biden for that simple reason. With that said; I'm not American, don't live in the USA and live in a country who is a historical ally of Colombia, doesn't matter who the president is; so I don't really care who won, don't know if the election was rigged and I'm not going to take the time to research about that (I guess it was not rigged). So my sleep is not going to suffer because of this. I wish the best to America. You guys have the best country ever. (Specially if you are from Florida or Texas) _________________ About the Twitter controversy, I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of mainstream social media who allow world leaders saying that other countries should disappear and other american politicians also whining about election results. I didn't like they banned the orange man from their platform. I think it was ugly, arbitrary and totally hypocritical. BUT I'm a free market anarchist, so I think Twitter has every right in the world to ban whoever they want for whatever reason. Is their company and private companies have every right to admit or deny their products to whoever the fuck they want. doesn't matter the reason. Private property is inviolable. Doesn't matter what reason. In my private platform/store/gym/restaurant/house, I can allow or deny the entrance of any person, or any kind group of people. So Twitter has all the right to do it. Even if I don't like it.

-Some stupid people storming the capitol and breaking some windows: Dangerous far right Nazis. Which is a very poor description of what actually happened at the Capitol. You said exactly what I'd expect you to say, zero element of surprise, so whatever floats your boat, man. But I wish you were less lazy with the context and facts when you construct your narrative.

But you're right, lero, the Biden administration will not abandon the liberal interventionist agenda given who will be in charge. Biden ALMOST picked Susan Rice as his running mate after all.
Iran is a poor example to bring up, though. It's hard to be more hawkish to Iran than Trump/Pompeo.

Part of me wants to see Mike Pence becoming the President of the United States of America for 8 hours or something due to the... em, "technicality" you know.

Liz Cheney is eyeing 2024. That ghoul can be even worse than her father.
She seems to have the same political instinct as her father's, though. Shrewd.

I really have to go to bed for today (almost at noon here, though), but just one thing: It's always important, for Americans, to remember that for many non-Americans - and many Americans too for that matter - the Capitol is rather the most disgusting building on this planet that symbolizes anti-democracy if anything.
"People's House/Most sacred place for democracy in the world" kind of nonsense sounds hollow at best, and hilarious to them at worst.
You should be at least somewhat aware of that. Some objectivity wouldn't hurt.

MAGAs wondering why cops didn't just welcome the "patriots" into the Capitol while MAGA-sympathizer cops wondering on police union message boards why the "patriots" attacked them and even killed one of them there is really dark comedy at its... well, "finest" is a wrong word, but you know what I'm getting at.
I guess that's what they call "communication breakdown." No laughing matter, but a lot of "serious" things in this world are absolutely, disappointingly stupid.
Needless to say, many of those MAGA cops conclude that it was an "Antifa false flag op." Bananabrains.

For at least three and a half years, Donald's "work" was pretty identical to Emperor Hirohito's in Imperial Japan until the end of the World War II. That doesn't mean he wasn't deeply involved in policies, or that he was just a ceremonial figure. It's kind of hard to explain.
The true function of the president in the presidential system is actually conceptually ambiguous. Each president can paint the enormous power that they are supposed to have in whatever color they like, so to speak.
Donald Trump clearly painted it in gold, a color of kinghood. That was a 180-degree turn from his predecessor.
As I always say, it's a deeply flawed system.

Jesus Christ, the notion that someone like Friedrich Merz can "win back" the votes that "fled for the AfD" is beyond silly, but that's apparently what they are arguing in the CDU in Germany. I mean, basically everything about that argument is wrong.
