Nancy Pelosi has gotten noticeably younger, invigorated. She looked weak and almost senile only a few months ago.
Her Baltimorean side takes over her Californian side when she's a barking dog, I guess.
She still should retire soon, though.

Joe Biden on his first day issued 17 executive orders, many of which the Joe Biden of yesteryears would've voted against. I wonder how many people truly understand how significant it is.
He's about to enact a humongous, humongous stimulus package too. I'm talking about a well-known deficit-hawk centrist liberal in Joe fucking Biden here.
No one ever *totally* changes. Joe Biden is still Joe Biden, and he will continue to fight his inner conservative, the "bipartisan" getting-things-done-uber-alles senatorial machine that he always was.
But he would not call me a fool today. He would still absolutely hate my stance on the US foreign policy in particular, but would never try to shout me down.
This is the context in which you must understand MAGA and alt-right and all; They are a desperate, desperate reaction to the irreversible fact that the American society has shifted markedly leftwards. Those reactionaries are more visible and vocal now because they are desperate.
Oftentimes, what you see isn't what is actually there.
They are running scared to the far right because they are confused. Because they are perplexed by the shift. Because they feel threatened by the change.
No one has "won" the battle yet. It's going to be a constant one. But things aren't the way they used to be, whether you like it or not.
I'm not an optimist. But I like this chaos. I always wanted this.

It's both hilarious and terrifying that it's been amazingly calm since the Twitter ban of Donald Trump.
Twitter clearly made the right call, lol.
Hilarious because of the degree to which Trump relied on stupid Tweets, with Fox News getting extra busy with doing all the shit-talking and inciting for him in his absence/silence; And terrifying because of the reconfirmation of the power of social media platforms.
But seriously, it's absolutely ridiculous how much the Twitter ban managed to neuter him. It's not like there is no other platform available for him. Of course his advisers told him not to make too loud a song and dance about the whole thing, with the impeachment/conviction/trial and stuff to come, but again, those advices often failed to stop him from tweeting about Joe Scarborough or whatever crap before.
The short-attention-span Twitter format truly symbolizes Trump politics in so many different ways.

British conservatives are making a big deal out of Biden replacing Churchill's bust with Chavez's (No, not that Chavez, you ignoramus).
They really ought to understand this: Most Americans, even conservative elites, don't actually give a shit about Churchill.
An old conservative historian at Harvard told me point blank that Churchill was the most overrated world figure in the modern world history. "Eisenhower even had to come up with fake campaigns for Churchill, so that he could keep him away from the REAL important campaigns - everyone thought Churchill was an obnoxious loudmouth who could screw things up any minute, and his sidekicks in the military were astonishingly incompetent."
I even felt the urge to defend Churchill as the professor basically pounded the living shit out of him verbally for 10 minutes nonstop. In fact I, a leftist, did try to defend him against that staunch American conservative, although needless to say he shot me and my defense down in 30 seconds.
Americans are just trying to be nice and diplomatic when they gush over Churchill. British conservatives should be aware of the massive gap that exists there. It's not just about Biden and his Irish roots.

The Republican Party is to all intents and purposes the Trump Party now, and the sooner you accept that as a fact the better.
What else would you call that party as you see the GOP senators and house member go either full crazy or full constitutional retard like that? Trump has got them by the balls.
At least 35% of all Americans live in a moronic fantasy. Their brains are totally fried. There's no recovering from that. When I kept calling that party a death cult I had no intention to just talk shit, but simply couldn't find any other expression to describe the party more accurately.
