Pretty nice thread about an extremely annoying ex-Russian "German" Twitter personality/"analyst"/"journalist" scumbag. If you're a fan of Russian literature, you know there are always this kind of "immoral opportunist" characters. A shameless prick like this railing against everything Russian, after years of doing the opposite, is really par for the course.

What shit like this tells me is the low quality of their junior officers. I mean, foot soldiers are foot soldiers, largely stupid young males, but junior officers are the ones who must make sure stupid shit like this doesn't happen.
This problem - junior officers being stupid-ass jokes - must have significantly contributed to the low morale and low combat effectiveness of the Russian troops so far.

Lots of stuff on this list, some I'd say will be super useful for Ukraine in this particular situation in the Donbas. But of course not enough to completely push the Russian troops back, but that's not the principle with which the "allies" are operating ATM, you know.  |

Don't know where it came from, or whether it even exists.
And given the history, you'd be an absolute fool to expect the average Serb to really cheer for NATO anyway. Simply calling that underlying sentiment "pro-Russian" is misleading.

His problem is that before blogging made him famous, he had never received any intellectual training whatsoever to become a public intellectual, yet he's been forced by the circumstances to play one.
He was a fucking lawyer - an NYU graduate! - a debater. That's all he ever was, and still is. He knows nothing other than A is B is C therefore A is C. And probably some professional tennis, mostly women's tennis. That's really about it. He's almost pathologically incurious about things that he doesn't know.
You listen to him for half an hour, and quickly realize that he's a complete philistine who can play crossword puzzles all day long but doesn't understand ideology at all. He can't even recognize one if it's dancing right in front of him.
He can be a good soldier, but never an officer.

The core Azov guys probably think all the people gathered there are useless losers, though. They are proudly neo-Nazi, and don't really give a shit about anyone's attempt to whitewash them. They never asked anyone to do that for them.
That's why a part of me finds the whole thing kind of hilarious. "No, that's Russian propaganda! They are patriots!" Like dude, have you met any of those guys? They would laugh at you.
