The US government seems to have decided that Ukraine is winning this war. It's a major escalation of the support.
I've been saying that Russia is going to lose this war, but that doesn't mean I know what Ukraine's win will look like. In other words, I don't know how this war can end anytime soon.

Few thought Russian planes would be chased around by missiles like this two months into the war.

The Russian advancement in the Donbas has been predictably slow. Ukraine must have lost tons of troops - we never know how much due to the complete information blackout on the Ukrainian side since Day One - but the brutal fact of the matter is that it doesn't matter. What matters is how slow it is. And it's been very slow so far.

I mean, the M777 are arriving for Ukraine. How are the Russians going to deal with them?
Oh, and reportedly this Swedish monstrosity is on its way too.

I know Russia screwed up in the beginning because they were *too recklessly fast*. The supply couldn't catch up.
But that doesn't mean you can afford to move this slowly given the circumstances. Ukrainian troops have been doing tactical retreats here and there, and that's because they can afford to thanks to the slowness of the Russian advancement. They would need to move a lot faster with reliable supply lines that can keep up with it. And that hasn't been happening, is the point.

"do have concerns"
Mark Galeotti is tapdancing around as usual not to offend the status quo of his home country, but what he actually means is that the UK government has been shooting its mouth off like a fucking idiot.
This kind of rhetoric *directly* means deaths of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, guaranteed. If that's the shared premise in the government, go ahead, but if not, just send weapons and shut up.
Russia and the UK really should get a fucking room with viagra and jerk off to each other in there.

The crappy quality of the immunity that you acquire through Omicron (BA.1) infection is really striking.

Man, I'm so sick of even seeing Boris Johnson on my PC monitor these days. I didn't used to think much of him, really. I think his Ukraine visit really did it for me. I don't even know why I reacted so strongly to that, but I almost threw up watching that footage. I've really had it with people like that arrogant clown. They turn every nice thing into mud.

That feeling when the whole country - Japan - has entered a big holiday season and I'm stuck here in front of the iMac having nothing whatsoever to do with that, with the only fun being sporadically (= way too often) whining in this thread.
I love you my dear audience!

"He sounds like a comedian... oh wait, he is one."
That was my first ever comment on Zelensky, before he won the election. Pretty lame in hindsight.

It's just that I was extremely weary of that kind of showbiz populism. I still am in fact.

"One Salmat, and boom, Britain will be no more."
"You're interested in London, 202 seconds to London (from Kaliningrad)"
LOL
I KNOW I shouldn't laugh, but absurdity *is* funny, I'm sorry.

I'm repeating myself here, but just because no media outlets are reporting it doesn't mean that the Ukrainians are having a good time in the Donbas now. I'm pretty sure that there have already been tons of Ukrainian casualties over there. The Russians are moving slowly, but it's a MASSIVE force attacking the area. Not enough IMHO, but massive.
And of course, TONS of Russians will die too once the shit gets even realer. I expect the Ukrainian forces to be well-prepared for that eventuality.

Yeah, what a clown, but most of the people that you think Putin killed - like Nemtsov - were actually murdered by this man and his flunkies.
