Already had "the talk" with the wife about why we finally have to take that holiday to Japan next year, and how it's because of sports and not culture. If they actually do Takeru vs Takei that would be insane.

If they actually do Takeru vs Takei that would be insane. Takeru wants to main event KFesta 2. Takei also wants to main event KFesta 2. Boom. Problem solved.

A few things of note:
If the event producer switch was meant to fight the Tenshin/Takeru fires, it clearly hasn't worked.
A reigning stadium champ is a huge surprise after settling into a groove of just getting Thais with similar names. Love it.
I'm not sure if Takeru is hinting that his goal is to take K-1 international or whether there's a big open air stadium being built for the olympics or something?
It's nice that they made a real title fight (Noiri vs Pikeur) alongside the tryhard jackass championship of the world.
Great to see Takei/Rivas get made, but it's dumb that it's Rivas' second non-title fight in a row.

67.5! It's pretty brilliant onKubo's part. I think Noiri, Pikeur, Hiramoto and even Kimura would be the favorite over him but he won't get best by any of them

Bunch of fight announcements today, the card is now up to 13 fights. The first K'Festa would've been like 17 fights without the tournament, so it must be nearly finished now. Karaev Fan said on twitter that the new event producer said there's another Japanese vs non-Japanese fight to be announced. Not the best fight announced today but I'm into Goshyu finally fighting Komiyama.

Since at this point we have 13 fights announced it was about time I updated the opening post.
The Good: - So far we have a stacked card with awesome matchups. - Japan vs the World is what they're actually calling the main portion of the card. It feels like a throwback to how classic K-1 cards were themed.
The Bad: - I've said it before, but I'm not a fan of some champions not being in title fights. I get it for catchweight bouts, but that's it. - (Why) aren't Mannaart and Allazov defending their belts? - Title fights still aren't 5 rounds.

I expect at least 2, probably 5ish fights to be added to the card on 1.18
No word on whether Mannaart and Allazov aren't on the card, but I presume not. Allazov seems like he was recomitting to bellakick and Mannaart has Glory stuff?

Allazov seems like he was recomitting to bellakick and Mannaart has Glory stuff? Fuck that! At least give us title defenses for those guys as they already only fight once a year in K-1.

Maybe Im in the minority here but Mannaart being champ is kinda just a novelty to me and I don't think there are compelling match ups for Allazov. I would have no problem with them going to Bellator or whatever.

*Offer not valid for Rukiya
They've announced 6 extra fights today, so the card is again enormous
