I'm in all those camps!
Didn't quite like the level going into it, but it materialized as a fun tournament and more so than I had reasonably expected it to.
About Tafa, silly as it was I think it was about the best way for him to get out of that fight to be honest...
Ben Saddik would've knocked him out I think, now he just more or less got off with an excuse. Can easily continue from that. If Ben Saddik had destroyed him I'm not so sure where he'd go from there.

Just rewatched the tafa fight and not only was k-1power right that, when he was dropped, saddik first grazed his cup and then the kick ended up in the gut , but pretty much every kick that jamal threw, even those that didn't dropped tafa, grazed his genitalia a way or another. Many of those kicks actually hit the gut first with the toes and then saddik retracted/pushed the foot down on to tafa cup on propose, so grazing him. That's a dick move from jamal. At first I thought it was only the referee fault, but right now i see that both of them are at fault here. From the first minute tafa was fighting more concerned of his balls than he was of jamal and still managed to land some dangerous hooks on saddik. I really hope glory gives him a rematch.

While I'm not sure Jamal hit Tafa's cup on purpose (it was loose, so kind of dangling in the way the whole fight) I do feel like it would be cool to settle things in a rematch. This won't happen though unless Tafa wins a few fights and/or Jamal loses a few fights. Either way I'm sure Tafa will be back and his next showing will probably be solid since he has something to prove, especially now. |
