Just read on Facebook JBS is injured.
My fears for this event slowly coming true.

I suppose it's big enough of a card they'll go through with the event. Rigters on short notice vs Rico maybe if he's up for it?

I never heard of Rigters before glory started to hype him up like crazy this year. And he did not look particularly talented in the tournament. I would rather watch tarik khbabez, Nordine Mahieddine or plazibat vs Rico.

Rigters is definitely talented, just not anywhere near ready to fight the champ.
Seeing how they rigged the tournament for Rigters I can't imagine Glory feeding him to Rico yet.
And with fights like Vakhitov/Pereira and Doumbé/Groenhart I can't see them cancelling the event, but I also can't see them charging 20 bucks for the PPV anymore as the interest level for this event was just decimated.
Not sure they'll make Rico fight a late replacement as that would satisfy nobody.

They now have wolves in Ben Adegbuyi, and of course L.evi R.igters. Really commercial jobs. And Toni Plazibat has pulled out due to unknown reasons.

Plazibat is out as well?
Can't say I'm surprised, but good luck to whoever is supposed to fix this mess.
I mean, they could match up Khbabez with Pacas. But with JBS, Plazibat and Catinas out there's really only Vakhitov/Pereira and Doumbé/Groenhart left to sell this event.

http://instagram.com/p/CKPg6PVhepg Khbabez on the offense with Glory. Looks like Hesdy is going to fight Rico now? I'm a big Hesdy fan, but he hasn't done anything to get this opportunity.

This is... not bad. It's still a far cry from the original card, but this will do. Does this mean the winner of the tournament is the (new) champion? Rico still shouldn't have much trouble winning this, though.

If Glory wants to create some goodwill here, they put Mahieddine vs. Pacas as a reserve bout.

Does this mean the winner of the tournament is the (new) champion? No. That's pretty lame. And I didn't want to see Doumbe in the front row. I guess the most interesting bout now is Vakhitov v Pereira. IF Vakhitov is in top shame, AFTER the surgery.

Yea, hoping Vakhitov doesn't insta break his hand with the first punch he throws again. He's such a good fighter at his best but goddamn have his injuries hindered him.
Have to also mention it's kind of nice of Rico (and the other tournament fighters) to agree to fight in a tournament all of a sudden. I suppose it's not that huge of a difference for Rico to go from an expected 5 round fight to 3+3 rounds and against little weaker competition. Still, he will have to deal with the potential randomness of tournaments.
Not saying it's exactly set up as a cake walk for Rigters, but if Gerges can go the whole 3 rounds with Rico and sap some of his energy, Rigters _COULD_ have some upset potential here.

So weird to look at Rico's last fights, he's had one fight in the last 2 years 3 months. I'm legit having to think can that even be right or is wiki/glory website missing a fight...

According to the team of Khbabez, he's not entirely fit. Not sure why they wanted to take Rico after stating that. But the world shall see now Rigters has some limits in terms of boxing. Like Gerasimchuk, Rigters is also nicely built, but they also must prove talent. Physically they are gifted but it's not enough. Somewhere Levi will fail, if Gerges doesn't win the other semifinal. )
I go for Khbabez defeating Rigters normally. Rigters is tall but I don't think he has weapons for Khbabez. At the moment.

I have mixed feelings about the tournament not being for the HW title. On one hand I feel everytime a champion fights his title should be on the line. On the other hand this is a tournament - which is a gray area in and of itself - and none of the other participants really deserve a title shot. Let's also keep in mind Rico may not have a say in the matter as at the end of the day Glory decides. Either way it is what it is.
As for the tournament field, I feel like a lot of people are dismissing Hesdy, but IMO he's probably the toughest opponent for Rico in the tournament.
This doesn't mean he should be in the tournament or I think he can win, but he is a tough experienced guy who's faced Rico twice before.
They probably picked Hesdy to milk his 'beef' with Rico after the Badr/Rico II post-event presser. Also politics; aren't Hesdy and Rigters both with Superpro?
As for Khbabez I think it's funny. First they claim he was ready for Rico and they confront Glory when he doesn't get that fight. Then Glory puts Khbabez in the tournament against Rigters and he's not entirely fit all of a sudden?
Regardless, I find it hard to predict Rigters/Khbabez. Rigters is comfortable at a distance, but will probably have a problem if Khbabez manages to get on the inside and throw bombs. It's really 50-50 for me. Probably a slight edge toward Rigters for having been active more recently and Khbabez' alledgedly questionable shape.

Right, like in the UFC! We will see about Hesdy. First actually Khbabez said he's not ready for a big fight on debut, blaming shape. ) Then he was matched against Plazibat. In their best shapes I think Khbabez damages him, and imo Khbabez will hardly become elite in this division being not nicely build. I even think Catinas who really throws bombs, will face problems. Still, remember in the heavyweight division everybody has the puncher's chance.
