Sure, there's always a punchers chance.
BTW it seems Glory is introducing tournament belts. Winner of the tournament will be crowned "HW World Tournament Champion".
If Glory is serious about making this a thing that would be pretty cool. They would need to make it 8 man tournaments though, because 4 man tournaments will always be lame in my book.
Funnily it's exactly the opposite of what K-1 did; they started out with only tournament champions then added SHW and HW belts for single fights.

This is a mistake imo. It will only decrease the value of the world title. In this tournament, Rico does not fight against elite opponents. At least at this point. K-1 had Final 16 and the grand final.

I think if Glory takes it seriously it can work. They'll need to introduce a proper qualification system though as their rankings are useless and nobody should take them seriously.

Martin Pacas is now fighting Muhammed Balli.
At least they found Pacas an opponent, though I would have preferred Mahieddine over Balli.

Not the biggest fan of having 2 separate titles, but we'll see how they'll treat it...

Why can't they open a website in Dutch, like glorykickboxing.nl? There is no logic at all, even the translations on the official site.
And the pressers for us should be in English, not translated. And these in Dutch should belong to Spike Netherlands.

They absolutely should not be in English when it results in a shitty interview like the Rico vs. Jamal one from last week. That was beyond awful and these crappy forced English interviews happen way too often even though they're not really appealing to anyone. Subtitles are always the way to go, unless there's an interpreter around or the involved fighters are comfortable enough and capable of forming coherent sentences. These non-English videos should come with subtitles from the get go though. Making people wait for them is just amateur hour.
I agree about Glory's website being a bit amateurish though, with the random Dutch and English versions of articles. Ideally they put some actual effort in it and give the website an option to switch between two or three languages; English, Dutch and maybe French?

I understand in the case of poor English speakers. But they can use a human translator for what Ben Saddik says. It's only his mistake he doesn't take also some English lessons. Even Ghita can link some words and he's from the older generation, some of them growing up with Russian and French. It's an international promotion, just saying. Some North American promotions or tv channels are lauching websites for Spanish speakers. But they are individual. Why not glorykickboxing.nl for the translated articles? And that interpreter. Holland is a serious country, not some Hungary. And Holland also doesn't reject the international language like some big nations in Western Europe. And one more thing, hardly an athlete who can't learn English can become top. Even Badr Hari does it.
It doesn't matter Jamal skipped school, he had time, he's in his 30s now. English is the easiest for a Dutch. I know children bad at school who learn English from movies. They are all using today phones, tablets, computers and internet. They have Netflix, probably including the current athletes.

Nope, I don't really agree with any of that.
Fighters shouldn't be required to learn English, because you don't think subtitles are professional enough for an international promotion. And even if someone learns English that doesn't automatically mean they interview well in English. I've been on the internet for 20+ years and doing an interview in English vs. writing a post in English are two completely different animals. Look at Rico who does speak English well in promo videos, he's just as awful speaking English in these pressers as many other non-native speakers.
The ability or willingness to learn English has absolutely nothing to do with the ability to become a professional athlete.
Now, do I think every person on the planet should learn English because it would be beneficial in their lives? Absolutely, but that's a different discussion.
I somewhat agree about having interpreters (hell, I'm the one who brought it up), but that shit doesn't work well with webcam interviews when you're already dealing with technical hurdles like lag and whatnot. I would only use one when there's a language barrier between fighters or at live events that have an audience.
But my real point here is that subtitles aren't a bad thing nor are they unprofessional. You know what's unprofessional? Lame, awkward interviews with people stumbling through sentences, because they're forced to speak English due some marketing 'genius' thinking it's the way to go.
Also Glory doesn't need a .nl website, all they really need is an English .com website. If they want to feature articles in different languages (mainly Dutch and/or French, really) they should consider an option to switch languages on the fly. They could also just link to a Dutch version of an article within the English version one. As long as they stop randomly posting Dutch articles on their website like they're doing now.
And finally, Glory isn't TRULY an international promotion. It's a Dutch/French promotion with a handful of North American promo employees.

Basically Rico is questioning if JBS is really injured. Unless Rico knows something we don't (which is possible) it's entirely speculation though.

But was Ben Saddik suspended for doping before?
"Ben Saddik is er in ieder geval aan gewend om lang op een gevecht te moeten wachten", stipte Verhoeven fijntjes aan. "Hij is een keer geschorst geweest wegens natrappen tegen Gerges en hij is een keer geschorst geweest wegens doping. Nu is hij weer geblesseerd, zo is het altijd wel wat met hem."
Doesn't Rico say it about Jamal here?

Rico does accuse Jamal of having been caught with PEDs, but I'm not sure if it's true.
I simply can't recall. Jamal was suspended by Glory for six months after he was DQ'd for kicking Hesdy in another promotion.
Maybe he got caught and Glory kept silent about it. But again, pure speculation.

Maybe Rico relies on Jamal being stupid. Or why would he say such a thing? He can be sued. I'm not a Verhoeven fan, he was guilty in his beef with Ghita.
