Just watched the presser and Rico said Jamal was suspended for a year following his fight in Vegas. If you look at Jamal's record it does fit as he fought outside of Glory for a year after his Vegas fight.

Doesn't Ben Saddik represent Cor Hemmers' gym? I do not insinuate, but others including Hari, Gerges, Brestovac, Machado, Miller and Lazaar received suspensions for doping.

JBS didn't seem to fight in Glory for a couple years after that, don't see much of a problem here. I don't think Glory has usually talked much about someone popping unless it somehow affected them or maybe if someone else brought it up and it made "news".
Personally don't really care, testing is mostly virtue signaling to sponsors your league is clean anyway. PED usage is pretty rampant in kickboxing.

Now if Glory test their fighters it's ok. But others didn't represent that gym whose head was also the promotion matchmaker.
Regarding testing, I don't think they are doing it for the sponsors. Maybe Holland also wants to become a serious country like the U.S. I think the doping authority is issuing it and kickboxing is known as being unclean. Doping endangers the health of athletes, surely in the long term. The sponsors probably don't give a damn, until things get serious.

Oh yeah, just meant in general leagues that opt to do something, the olympics etc.
Doubt Glory really does anything on their own, fighters probably get tested if there's some regulatory body that requires it.
It's all mostly complete bs.

Happening this Saturday!
Just saw a pretty big (~30 seconds) ad for this on Dutch television.
Wonder how this is gonna do in terms of PPV sales.

That's pretty interesting. G76 must've actually sold then if they've willing to spend money for tv ads.

I believe I saw it on Comedy Central which along with Spike is a Viacom owned network. Guess it makes sense to advertise across their sibling channels.
A possibly concerning detail I found out is that Spike has been in the process of being rebranded to the 'Paramount (Movie) Network' in several countries. I'm not sure what they have planned for the Dutch version of the channel, but this could mean that Glory won't have a home at Spike for very long.

BTW another interesting bit from the presser I forgot to mention earlier:
Not sure what the parameters of the deal are; is this in case Levi faces Rico at all?

Haha, pretty well made video. Still rooting for Murthel though.

Itay Gershon vs. Guerric Billet is off due to travel restrictions preventing Gershon to leave the country.
At least it's not one of the bigger fights.

I'm getting Glory 77 ads during Facebook videos.
Of course it's targeted advertising, but I can't remember having seen Glory ads in FB vids before.
Glory seems to be putting some money in advertising.

Do you think many Dutch people will buy it? Am I wrong and they are not as interested as in Badr v Benny? Maybe the price and the fact that Rico is not fighting Jamal?
After all, the heavyweight division is the most beautiful and it will be a disaster to see midgets after midgets. I like weight classes from -77 kg upwards.

Do you think many Dutch people will buy it? Am I wrong and they are not as interested as in Badr v Benny? Maybe the price and the fact that Rico is not fighting Jamal? It's difficult to predict the PPV sales for this event. I thought it had a good chance when Jamal was still involved, but now it's lost a lot of its appeal. I think the tournament is a good solution, but it's just not as attractive as Rico vs. Jamal. Glory is making a bit of an effort to market this event with ads and promo material on TV, Social Media, YouTube etc. Vakhitov/Pereira and Doumbé/Murthel are great matchups, but I don't think general audiences are tuning in for that. All they're tuning in for is Rico and to a lesser extent the rest of the tournament field. Not sure if that will be enough to really push sales. With how disappointing Glory 76 turned out to be I know I'm not buying it. 20 bucks is a ludicrous price for what we're getting. You're paying for 7 fights (Pacas/Balli is a free prelim) and they're not even all interesting. After all, the heavyweight division is the most beautiful and it will be a disaster to see midgets after midgets. I like weight classes from -77 kg upwards. I used to think a bit like that as well, but I've really grown to enjoy the lower 50kg-70kg weightclasses. While I'm still very invested in the HW division, the vast majority of fights we get turn out to be very mediocre both on a technical and entertainment level. It's rare for a fight to be good, let alone great.
