Yup. Very weird event as a whole, unforgettable Finnish Euro debut no matter what.

Man, Belgium vs. Denmark was easily the best game of the tournament so far.
I like both countries, but was definitely rooting more for Denmark here.
They fought so incredibly hard, but it was impossible to keep up that pace for 90+ minutes against a very strong Belgium.
Loved the level of respect both teams showed before, during and after the match with the 10 minute mark definitey being a notable highlight.
It's unlikely Denmark makes it to the next round of the tournament, but I believe it's safe to say they earned everyone's respect and sympathy.

Happy Germany was finally able to win a match in a tournament again. And it was definitely entertaining, but man is Germany's defense spotty at times.
Still have very little hope of them making it far in the tournament. Their next opponent Hungary is not to be underestimated.

Two top games today, France - Switzerland just going into extension at this moment.
I think Germany is far from the best team, but I could well imagine they win it now because they got very lucky brackets, while Italy, Spain and France could meet each other and all even had already gone into extension (if France advances).

Definitely the two best games of the tournament so far.
Very cool that the underdog Switzerland was able to pull off the upset here.
Also yeah, Germany has been stumbling every step of the way, but even the top dogs that are left (Belgium, Spain, Italy) have shown signs of weakness.
But let's see if Germany can even get past England first.

And they couldn't do it. Congrats to England.
It was a fun and exciting match for the most part in which I thought Germany was the better team overall.
Unfortunately, this is not the same team it was five years ago. And it showed in every match.
On the bright side, it's not the same team it was three years ago either. And that showed in every match as well.
While sure, I'm a bit disappointed, I for one am happy we didn't get embarrassed like we did in 2018.
Not only for myself and fellow German supporters, but also for the team and Löw.
A lot of people selectively only remember your latest performances, but Löw made Germany World Champion and I will never forget that.
I'm weirdly at peace with this, perhaps I've matured a bit. lol

Italy has to be the most obnoxious team in football.
I realise that every team/player is guilty of acting to some degree, but Italy has always been particularly nasty.
They have more than enough quality not to rely on shit like this.

Maybe they should in the future use the video assistants to punish dives (and similar things). It's generally a very frequent happening, these injuries out of nowhere often also make the last minutes of many games a farce when one team is ahead.
The big problem is of course to be sure about it, so it's understandable the refs in the past usually did nothing about it. But with the video assistants there would be more of a chance.

It's definitely something they should look into.
On the bright side; a handful of exceptions aside, I think the tournament has shown solid reffing and VAR usage thus far.
I complained a lot about VAR during the 2018 World Cup, but here it has been used rather consistently and prevented a lot of offside goals from being counted.

And of course, the two teams I definitely didn't want to see in the finals make it there.
Either way, Denmark is my personal MVP of the tournament. The Danish should be proud.

Well, that one was screaming to be overturned in this VAR era, but somehow ended up standing. Maybe I still don't quite understand how the whole thing works, but have no idea why the VAR didn't urge the ref to take a look at it. I doubt the decision would've stood if he had.
It's hilarious that that England squad is certainly good enough to win it all, but whatever they will accomplish this time around has been already asterisked like this, lol.
Not exactly their fault or an earth-shattering scandal, but it's England that we are talking about here, the eternal punching bag in football. People generally enjoy making fun of England's lack of major accomplishments in football, and also finding reasons to discredit whatever they do accomplish. "No one will remember whatever happened in the fucking semifinal!" wouldn't work. People will remember it. "Sterling fell as fast as it did on the day of the Brexit vote!" is an obvious joke to be made here, and people will keep making similar jokes for years and more.
I do feel England will fail in the final, though.

I feel like Italy will definitely win, but really hope a miracle happens and they won't.
And yeah, that England penalty was BS. It's weird too, because as I mentioned before I feel the reffing and VAR were pretty consistent throughout the tournament. Like VAR actually proved to offer some added value.

As an English person, I agree that penalty was BS.

To be fair England was completely dominating the later portions of the game and the result wasn't a misrepresentation of it.
