That was the McSweeny fight. Glory starting negotiations with him implies to me that they probably wanted to make a rematch happen in Glory, which is why I think bringing both him and Ilunga in now makes sense.
Aside from that sure I agree, Glory doesn't need McSweeny. He's a fun fighter though. Not a bad addition as he probably doesn't break their bank by any means.
Not sure how he'll fare against Plazibat, but here we are.

While I still think this card is a pretty big step down from the previous one, these last two announcements have turned me around a little bit.
As a whole, I'm expecting this to at least be entertaining.

While it's not the most interesting matchup ever, I am somewhat annoyed that the fight is off.
Who is Rico going to fight now? Ben Saddik and Adegbuyi come to mind, but I'm not sure Glory is going to do that.

I'm afraid I don't hold that kind of power All kidding aside, while I don't have high hopes for Saki's comeback to kickboxing at 37 after years of inactivity/injury, I do think it's cool that he finishes his career in kickboxing rather than losing to nobodies in MMA. If his body holds up, he may have some good fights left in him. At this point I'm mostly curious who they'll match him up with. I guess we'll know more in a few hours. |
