“My name is Paulo Zorello, founder of WGP Kickboxing and vice-president of the Brazilian Kickboxing Federation.I have been involved in kickboxing for 12 years, but my passion for the sport started long before that. When I was a child, I always followed my father's practices, matches, and events.Today, I would like to make this announcement at WGP Fight Gym, but this year we will be holding a K-1 event in South America. , the winner will get the right to fight in Japan at the end of the year.The tournament is scheduled to be held on August 10th (*Final arrangements are being made for August 3rd or August 10th).Cities where the event will be held We're still talking about it, but there should be news soon.

K-1 Brazil looking interesting. Not that any of these guys are at their peak anymore, but still mostly known entities ex Glory or even K-1 in the case of Silva and Machado.

That's an okay line-up so far.

Yeah these guys are veterans, but still decent enough to put in a tournament against some promising up and comers. Haime Morais doesn't ring a bell with me, though.

Also looks like the date has shifted a bit from early August to the 24th, which is a week before Glory 94.

I saw the line up the other day and I was actually quite impressed lol. Not great, but better than Sarajevo and Sicily so far. I do know Machado fights Giannis tomorrow in Varna and he wanted a rematch with Liu Ce.

WGP guy, probably fought every single heavier Brazilian fighter you do know hahah. Not that I know him all that well, but he has a win over Azizpour in Kunlun.

He doesn't look familiar, but it's possible I've seen him in action before as I used to tune in to WGP cards every now and then. Pretty much every Brazilian stand-up fighter than went on to bigger things fought there at one point.

I was about to say Dengue Silva is the only one who doesn't have WGP experience but after 2 minutes of Google research he did fight there in one undercard.



Also, it seems the event is going to be in Brasilia, not in Curitiba.

I think I saw Dengue Silva get a wicked ko in MMA. No idea how good he truly is. Gives off the feeling of a dark horse for some reason.

I think it might be illegal to not fight on WGP if you're a Brazilian kickboxer.

Correct, they've changed locations and are now using a larger venue.

They're doing some seminars during fight week.

Seems like a decent amount of effort is being put into this, which is nice.
