http://instagram.com/p/zu0b4cBdph Tyrone Spong makes his debut in Boxing this friday in Berlin, Germany. Coincidentally, the event will be shown live on EuroSport (not the UK one as they have their own programming). The thing is, there's nothing on Spong's opponent yet nor is he listed on BoxRec. Oh you fightsport professionalism..

According to rumors on MixFight Spong is fighting Ferenc Zsalek who is 13-45-5 boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?cat=boxer&human_id=244818
That's a way more realistic debut fight for Spong.

Spong will fight Gabor Farkas 7-34-6.
It's the ideal opponent for Spong considering the circumstances. I hope EuroSport will actually broadcast that portion of the card tonight. Will share a stream when it's about that time.

a guy with 34 losses is still fighting? lol. LOL In all seriousness I'm fairly sure a big chunk of todays boxers have losing records like that. There's a big demand for those guys as more promising fighters need them for experience and to pad their records.

Some updates from MixFight on Spong (I translated the key notes):
Tyrone wants to do as many fights as quickly as possible, mainly to build up/pad his record. You don't really make money in boxing until you fight some halfway decent names which usually happens when your record is around 15-0. Multiple boxing promotors (mainly US ones) have shown interest in offering Spong televised fights if he manages to build up somewhat of a record.
So Spong and Pedro Diaz decided to move to Germany to train/live there and have the most fights in the shortest amount of time possible. Who he fights is less important than being active. Also, at this level there are no certainties: Last minute changes of opponents are pretty common.
Spong actually had the intention to have a fight about every week, but things don't go that quick. However, it does seem like he will fight again next week. No opponent is known yet. Spong intends to figth around 10 times in boxing this year.
As things are currently going, Spongs team is offering him to promotors to be on their cards and if they have a free spot he can fight. Regardless of who Spong is in kickboxing, he's still a nobody in boxing and has to work his way up there.

According to Fight Club Wuppertal on Facebook, Spong is fighting his second pro-boxing bout on their promotion tonight 21st March 2015. Can't find out a named opponent though.

Nothing on boxrec yet either.
It doesn't look like this one will be televised live, at least not on EuroSport.
