Oh man. Marvel comics was my first step towards full-on geekery and without Stan Lee there wouldn't be any Marvel. Huge piece of my childhood. RIP master, you will never be forgotten.

In your head you kind of have to disconnect Reynolds' voice from Deadpool, but I think this works.
They got my money!

BTW Netflix cancelling Iron Fist, Luke Cage AND Daredevil is awful.
Hoping this does not mean the end of those storylines. I would hate if they'd reboot this into the movies or some shit like that.

Yeah...
I get Iron Fist cancelation, Luke Cage maybe if it didn't do good numbers...but Daredevil was great and at least seemed fairly popular too. Has to be netflix vs. disney and disney's upcoming streaming thing. Going to be messy.

Oh yeah this is most likely Netflix being sour about the upcoming competition from Disney+. It feels like Jessica Jones and Punisher will be cancelled as soon as their upcoming seasons are released.
It's a shame really as I enjoy all those shows. To add insult to injury Disney+ is an endeavor that is more aiming to incorporate Marvel's movie division over their TV division. The problem with that is that Marvel's Movie and TV divisions don't get along too well (one of the reasons there isn't a lot of crossover between films and shows) and it lessens the chances of the shows being continued on Disney's service next year. It's always stupid when the audience is the victim of their political shenanigans.

Just got back from Aquaman and it was great.
There were so many awesome shots in there. Pretty much every scene can be used as a wallpaper.

Finished binging the 4th season of Better Call Saul today. What an amazingly well-made show.

Just kicked off my cinematic year with Creed II and we're off to a good start. It's funny, but despite there being an element of repetition with this being the 8th(!) film in the 'Rockyverse' already, these are still very enjoyable and engaging films.
Also, it was pretty cool seeing the SuperKombat logo across the ring during the main fight.

Just got back from DragonBall Super: Broly. We had to drive to a different city to catch a late night showing of the Japanese version and it was definitely worth it. It's the first time I was able to see anything DragonBall related in a movie theatre so this holds special significance for me.
Me and one of my fellow fanboy friends really dug it, one more 'moderate fan' friend liked it and one friend who never closely followed the anime didn't really like it.
This gives me the impression that if you're a fan of DragonBall this is definitely a movie I can wholeheartedly recommend. It's not that you can't enjoy it without understanding the lore, but the movie definitely assumes you're up-to-date on everything and as such a lot of references may be missed or misintepreted.
Fair warning though without giving away any spoilers; there is a bit of retconning going on that may not be to everyone's liking and some may not appreciate that the first half of the film does not contain a lot of action.
Having said that, when the movie really goes in to its higher gears it's electric. Animation-wise, aside from some cgi that can be spotted here and there, this may be the best DragonBall has ever looked. Especially in some of the fight scenes.
Also, it's crazy that Masako Nozawa, who is in her eighties now, is still able to do Goku's voice so convincingly, especially with all the screaming involved. It's also worth noting that Bulma's new Seiyuu Aya Hisakawa seems to be a worthy replacement for the character after Hiromi Tsuru's unfortunate passing in 2017.
My third movie this year and again it was good. And it's still only January with lots more stuff to come out!

Fascinating videos/channel I stumbled upon while randomly browsing YouTube over the past weekend:
If you have any interest in the topic of animation this is great stuff.
