I'm kinda surprised no fighters come on here and talk with us. I guess they just use social media to talk to fans.

We have sg and Brice Guidon Over the years we've had other fighters actively post here as well. Virgil Kalakoda and John Wayne Parr come to mind, but also trainers and employees from various promotions; Vinny Shoreman (Enfusion), Doug Kaplan (former K-1 USA manager), Dale 'Apollo' Cook (trainer of Randy Blake and former fighter), lordgaul/Steven 'The Warman' Wright (striking coach of many big UFC fighters and kickboxers), Alin Huiu (media manager SK) and JLB's former manager Alan. I think Steve Kalakoda had an account as well (trainer of many South African veterans like Francois Botha, Mike Bernardo, Jan Nortje and his son Virgil). Of course our very own Boobs used to work for FEG K-1. And I'm probably still forgetting some names. Some of these guys also have accounts on the new Kakutougi forum, but just haven't been as active lately. We even did some interviews with big name fighters back in the day. For the nostalgics among us here's the 30 minute interview with Jerome LeBanner we did back in 2005 (I actually did the editing for the video): Have a great weekend everyone!

Hahah Like, c'mon. He can't make weight at 205, then all of a sudden "these guys are too big of wusses to fight me." Ugh. Then challenges a partially-blind Remy Bonjasky. COME ON.

Yep, Remy has had an ongoing issue with a detached retina. Apparently his peripheral vision is garbage and he can't see anything I think on the right side of his face.
When a fist is flying your way from that angle and you just can't see it, I don't know, that's not something a professional fighter should be dealing with.

saki is quite the big man calling out blind people. Yeah, Remy's had trouble properly seeing out of one of his eyes for years now. Edit: Yeah, Dave explained it a bit better than I did. lol He mentioned it was one of the reasons of his initial retirement at the end of 2009. On to the Saki VS Remy rematch. While I still believe Glory gave Remy an extremely poor send-off, I feel it was probably best for him to retire. His comeback period showed pretty clearly that while he was still a solid fighter, this older Remy was a far cry from the fighter he once was. That in combination with increasing problems with his eye made me think it was probably time to call it a day. In the last few weeks in multiple talkshow appearances Remy's mentioned that if he'd be challenged by either Rico or Badr he would seriously consider doing it. I imagined it was just Remy being Remy when a camera is pointed at him and thought he probably isn't being serious, but now Saki's challenged him and he's "accepted". I mean, this fight is still far from becoming official, but I feel like Remy is semi-serious about this, for the right price of course. Whether he misses being in the limelight more prominently or he's desperate for another big paycheck I'm not sure, but perhaps it's a bit of both. The one thing I'm not buying is that this is some sort of personal pride thing. Remy never seemed to be that guy. On to Saki. Him challenging Remy appears to me like he isn't very confident in himself. I mean, he's challenging a now two times retired, 40 year old Bonjasky who has had increasing difficulties with his eye sight. 3-5 years ago I would have said sure, he wants to get revenge, but at this point if Saki beats Bonjasky is there any honor left for Saki to gain against this version of Remy? Just seems like Saki desperately trying to get a foot in the door and start with a doable 'testing the waters' comeback fight after basically doing nothing for almost three years. I'm not even counting the Ciobanu fight as Saki looked out of shape to the point where Ciobanu (who went 1-9 in his last 10 fights) looked good. To add insult to injury Saki did a radio interview (in Dutch) with FunX and let me share some of the quotes: Saki: "I fought him in 2008 and back then he didn't give me a lot of trouble. I always wanted to fight him again and now the time has come. Three times K-1 champion or not, let him come." So basically he makes it sound like Remy's the one that challenged him and as if he didn't lose by TKO in their first fight. Also apparently now that Remy is 40 "the time has come". You can't make this stuff up. www.funx.nl/news/funx/30593-goekhan-saki-daagt-remy-bonjasky-uit-drie-keer-k1-kampioen-of-niet-laat-maar-komenSo after all this, do I want to see Saki VS Bonjasky II at this point? No, not really. Will I watch it if it actually happens? Sure. Also there was a postfight interview on Ziggo Peptalk with Rico a few days ago: Van Gelder asks Rico about the fact that everybody seems to want to challenge him now that they see how much attention the Badr/Rico fight got. Rico replied "Well, a fight with this much attention on it attracts a lot of golddiggers. Let them work their way up first." Basically calling Remy, Saki and everyone else golddiggers.

Saki and Tyrone Spong were always bragging how they were under paid kickboxing royalty princesses, they don't deserve this kind of treatment, they are bigger than the sport, if they don't get paid like Badr Hari is, they will cry, won't participate in any events and so on. The reality is, they were still living in the K-1 days. Guys like Tyrone, Saki, Badr were too young to retire yet, they were still in their prime and on top of their game after K-1 was gone. Tyrone and Saki continued in GLORY, cuz they didn't really had the chance to achieve anything major in the K-1 and didn't have the solid name that Badr holds. They became two of the biggest stars in GLORY and decided that now is the time to lay back and go through the Badr Hari path. Badr had made big impact in K-1 and this provided him some huge fan base, including millionaires that were willing to pay him fat checks to fight in front of them, so there was no need for him to get underpaid in Glory or some other organization. Tyrone Spong then broke his leg and this was the final spark that ignited the flame and his decision to retire from kickboxing and try the boxing were he would get paid better and won't brake his legs anymore. Gokhan Saki was starting to realize that he is not that special as he thinks he is when he did the "I AM THE PRINCESS, I WILL GET PAID" scene and no one gave a fuck about him. Tyrone realized in time that he can't walk in Badr Hari's shadow, but it seems like this is not the case with Saki. Saki just paints one comic picture of himself recently and this will backfire at him by loosing some fan base. And we all know how much a fighter without big fan base gets paid, right ?
