It's the Europe World Grand Prix!
DUUUUH.
I dunno. Ned called me the other day to talk about it, and it sounds like K-1 Europe will be handling heavier weights while K-1 Japan will be handling smaller weights, at least when it comes to championships. If they actually coordinated on this is beyond me.

Lol. Well at least there's some sign of life aside from these awful "Amateur Championships".
I guess we know as soon as they announce a lineup. Say we 4 local fighters and 4 somewhat bigger names like the K-1 Japan tournaments it's probably going to be the WGP.
Edit: I like that we're finally getting K-1 coverage for the heavier weightclasses in addition to the lighter ones.
Just, please don't suck.
Also, as a sign of the K-1 branches working together it would be fitting if Makoto Uehara gets a spot in the tournament. He's been beating all the other Japanese (light) heavyweights anyway.

Please don't be terrible. Please don't be terrible. Please don't be terrible. "K-1 World GP EURO in Belgrade" DOH! Also, as a sign of the K-1 branches working together it would be fitting if Makoto Uehara gets a spot in the tournament. He's been beating all the other Japanese (light) heavyweights anyway. K-1 Japan has continued to pretend that they are a completely independent and original entity (no mention of this event yet), so I highly doubt it. They seem committed to at least putting up the front that they want to extend into HW one day.

K-1 finally has a working English website again: k-1world.com/I was wondering why the K-1 Global Facebook page would advertise a website that doesn't even exist, but I guess they needed a day or two more to get anything up there. Not much on the site other than some placeholder stuff, but I'll take it after having over a year of "coming soon" with a broken timer. The site links to the Chinese and Japanese counterparts. Edit: I like how Akebono is featured on their "Legends" page.

While his name sounds familiar I can't say I know much of Kujundžić. However, he is just 27 years old and with recent knockout wins over both Andrei Stoica and Frank Munoz he seems like a decent name to have in the tournament.
Also, I like the graphics style.

So the website sees K-1 Japan and K-1 Europe as part of one entity?

Yes and they are: Mr. Kim owns K-1, so without K-1 Global's 'permission' K-1 Japan wouldn't be possible.
The thing is, like Karaevfan stated, that K-1 Japan doesn't really publically acknowledge the 'other K-1 branches'. And I kind of understand it. The K-1 Japan events are (IMHO) the best thing in kickboxing and the closest thing to 'classic K-1'. While some of the K-1 Global events have actually been really good, they don't hold a candle to the K-1 Japan events in terms of consistency and authenticity.
To be fair, for most of the time during K-1 Japan's rise to popularity K-1 Global wasn't really doing anything event-wise after their first few China events early in 2015. The K-1 Global Facebook is always posting K-1 Japan news though, so there's at least one-way acknowledgement.

I'm not familiar with Tomasz Sarara, but here are some notable details according to his Polish Wiki page: 34 wins (11 KO) - 7 losses 2010: The K-1 WGP 2010 Warsaw - 2nd place 2012: Tatneft Arena - 2nd place Boxing : 2011: The Bigger's Better 8 - 2nd place 2013: Bigger's Better 22 - 1st place He also seems to have a boxing match lined up this saturday according to BoxRec, actually his first recorded fight on the site (BoxRec doesn't include boxing matches with heavily modified rules) Sarara is 31 yrs old and according to the above details should be at least decent. Sarara VS Falin (2015)

Emmanuel Payet (France) Unfortunately I couldn't find much on Payet as he doesn't have a wiki page. He is 1-1 with Arnold Oborotov so I'd guesstimate Payet at around his level. Payet did score a knockdown on Nathan Corbett a few years ago, but was ultimate TKO'd with lowkicks.
