This is actually looking like a fun roster. Sure no big names at the moment, but really a key appeal of K-1 tournaments was watching some unknown coming out of nowhere to KO three guys and become a star. I mean who knew Branko Cikatic before 1993?
With LHW the way it is, its not inconceivable that one of these guys really turns out to be something and we're clamoring for him to be fighting Saki 2-3 years down the line. If that doesn't pan out, well it should still be a fun night.

Pretty much my thoughts. Vasil Ducar is a reserve fighter for the tournament. He is 2-0 in FFC, winning both those fights by KO and he is 1-0 in MMA according to sherdog. I hope they actually have him fight and not just as a stand-by substitute.

Atha Kasapis is the second reserve fighter, guess that confirms there'll be an actual reserve match.

Kasapis took quite a pounding from Gerasimchuk in the Kunlun HW semifinal. No quit in him.

And fighter #8 is announced: Darko Stošić (Serbia). He is 8-1 in MMA with his only loss coming to Jiri Prochazka. I have no idea if he has a kickboxing background, so he is a bit of a wildcard for now. Props to them for only putting two local fighters in the tournament, we have a pretty diverse field. All we need now is the tournament matchups and maybe another superfight or two and we have a full card.

I am actually hyped up for this card. Dunno if it's nostalgia about the old K-1 days or something .. I mean at least they are giving it a try - the different weight classes and stuff is not a bad idea at all. Also i was really fed up with the 4-men tourneys and the same old names in the kickboxing landscape. The sport really needs new stars and faces to represent it and i think that this is what K-1 is giving us. Something fresh. K1power, you did a good job with the fighters resumes and presentation, thanks.

Interestingly enough, this comes from the Chinese site. There's nothing on the English one or their FB/twitter/Instagram accounts.

Nice find! Too bad Kwasi is fighting Kujundžić right off the bat as they're my two favorites to take the whole thing.
Edit: OP Updated. We are at 10 fights total now, I think we're good to go.

Some changes to the card: Darko Stošić (Serbia)is out of the event with Reserve Fighter Atha Kasapis (Germany) taking his place in the tournament. Kasapis fights Groce now while Opačić fights Payet. New reserve fighter is Bahrudin Mahmić (Bosnia and Herzegovina), who has a 2-1 boxing record in addition to his kickboxing fights I could find on YouTube. OP Updated.
