Seems like Global at least is acknowledging K-1 Japan as they now have Urabe, Kaew and Marat as the champions at their respective weights on their website at the "Champions" page.

Oh yeah, they're also constantly sharing K-1 Japan news on their Facebook page.
Long time no see, Rictor!

Shitty regional Grand Prix in Serbia. Even worse than the Bellator event in Hungary. These two countries have no tradition, especially Serbia. There is some potential though, like in any other place in Europe. But nothing special to give stars.

I think it looks fine. What's up with the negativity?

Sorry but K-1 should be big not some local promoting under the K-1 banner. The relationships of Ned Kuruc...
Who are these losers from the former Yugoslavia on the posters? They should have won some matches in a pretty strong K-1 in order to be promoted. NO?
The local promoters scream for attention, this is what I am saying.
Bellator is a joke but here they are using the K-1 brand. K-1 shouldn't be regional. I am so disappointed.

If you expected a huge event with names like Saki and Spong in a big location like Amsterdam, I think you haven't really been paying attention to K-1 and kickboxing as a whole these past few years. K-1 is not in a position to frivolously spend money like that. Other than China, no promotion is. Going to bidding wars in 2012 is what got K-1 Global and Glory in huge trouble, ruining the kickboxing landscape in the process.
Every org is trying to do more with less. Finding young up and comers that are both good and affordable is key. We see that in Glory, SuperKombat etc. and it's a no-brainer for K-1 to follow suit. As for location, it only makes sense to pick a location that is probably extremely cheap to organise an event in.
As long as it looks good and the fights are entertaining I'm on board. As a fan of kickboxing I want promotions to succeed when they're trying. If this is succesful over time we could see K-1 Global returning to classic K-1 shape. K-1 Japan is already doing it on a limited budget, but it's more difficult with higher weightclasses as the money goes up with the weight and the people doing the Global events simply aren't as experienced and talented as the guys in Japan. Adjust your expectations and give it a chance.
Also, this is your second post with animosity toward other countries and nationalities. Please be more respectful. I'm only saying this once.

While K-1 Japan remains weary of calling their 70kg fights as MAX fights, K-1 Global just goes ahead and refers to a 71kg fight as "MAX". lol It's nitpicky, but I thought it's funny.

I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic that they're going to try and use this as a stepping stone to build an actual viable, sustainable kickboxing show modelled after K-1 Japan, but the Global guys have a big uphill struggle to change their reputation

Given how we still need two more names confirmed for the tournament, some fighters might still be in negotiation.

Igor Bugaenko holds wins over Bogdan Stoica and Vladimir Toktasinov. One more fighter!
