I would say this: Give badr(if he beats gerges) the next title shot in september. And give the winner between benny and jamal the next title shot in december against the winner of rico vs badr fight. Meanwhile before the badr rematch, give rico a warm up fight for May ... let's say mladen brestovac.
So we should have
Rico vs Brestovac in May
Benny vs jamal somewhere in the summer
Badr vs Rico in september
and then Benny/Jamal vs Rico/Badr in december

I dunno man. Benny could have finished Tafa with a goddamn Hadouken and it wouldn't give us any indication as to how a third fight with Rico would go. As soon as Benny saw a chance to finish the fight, he did. And he did so convincingly. Maybe he did it in more impressive fashion against Marshall, but at no point was he ever in any trouble against either of his opponents. That's about as well as he could have done, really. I totally agree. He never was in any real trouble against Tafa, but him being afraid to let his hands go despite tafa limping, barley being able to stand on his feet and also beaing dead tired doesn't inspire confidence going into the rico rematch. But as you said, badr vs benny or benny vs jamal is the fight to make. Afraid? Are we talking about kids fighting in the scool yard? Isn't it more likely that he simply chose the most obvious way for him to win rather than being "afraid" of letting his hands go? Didn't he just KO'ed Marshall with his hands in the same evening, an opponent which is way more experienced than Tafa? Everybody sees whatever makes them feel better. For me, it actually showed that Benny is becoming a smarter fighter, like Rico, which i regard as one of the smartest kickboxers ever (including K-1 era, yes). |

BTW I completely missed it and don't *really* care, but why was Wilson/McDonald cancelled? Failed his medicals because his blood pressure was high. |

Me likes that Hadouken part  In fact, Benny throwing Hadoukens and Shoryukens and Rico countering with Tiger Shots and Tiger Uppercuts would be the only fight in GLORY's history I would actually consider watching  |

Just caught up with this entertaining card. Was nice to see the Illinois commission allow five judges and open scoring for what I think is the very first time in the United States. Main event was stopped early, but Harut had Murthel stunned anyway, so I don't think it changed the outcome. Would have been interesting to see Guto re-match with Adegbui too in the HW tournament final. I was hoping Sitthichai would stop Baya rather than go the distance, but other than that I pretty much called all the bouts correctly.
