Still, Spong made quick work of his new opponent: It's just frustrating to see Spong take 3-4 easy fights a year when he could easily do 6-10 of these and have a more serious run. I kind of feel like he intends to slowly build up to a title fight and just retire from the purse in 2-3 years. |

we are in september and he has only had 2 fights this year... and his opponent was ranked number #226... the guy spong fought in february was ranked higher than this guy. Even if he reached a title shot in the future I think he will already be out of his prime by that time. Even kyotaro was a lot more serious about boxing than spong, who spong will probably knock out in the first 5 rounds.

That's a fight I'd like to see as I don't think Spong would have an easy time against Kyotaro at all.
Sure Spong has the physical advantages and the psychological advantage of having beaten Kyotaro before,
but this isn't kickboxing and it isn't 2009 anymore.
Kyotaro has been more active and has actually tested himself against serious competition.
Spong has looked good against fighters who shouldn't even be thinking of stepping in a ring with him.
Obviously I'm biased, but I honestly believe Kyotaro would give Spong some big problems.
