Enriko Kehl defeats Buakaw Banchamek by forfeit, R4.

Paul “Semtex” Daley defeats Mohammad Ghaedibardeh Decision, R3.
Maximo Suarez defeats Tural Bayramov by TKO, R2 (arm injury)
Andre “Dida” Amade defeats Li Yankun by Decision, R3.

K-1 World MAX Final: Enriko Kehl (R4 - Forfeit) Buakaw Banchamek - This fight was close. Kehl was landing the clean shots while Buakaw was using his clinch to throw Kehl around. While that is all well and good, that doesn't score you points in K-1 rules. Buakaw should know that. When it was announced as a draw going into an extra round Buakaw literally walked out. Not kidding, he walked out. Probably some of the least professional behavior that we've seen in a long time, especially on this level. Enriko Kehl wins via forfeit. Wow.

Paul “Semtex” Daley (R3 - Dec.) Mohammad Ghaedibardeh - Ghaedibardeh is a tough, tough guy who took a ton of damage. His reach was pretty crazy and he was using his kicks to keep Daley pushed back. If you could give Ghaedibardeh round one, rounds two and three were all Daley, with Daley dropping him twice in R2 and once in R3. I mean, there was no question that Daley won, but you gotta give Ghaedibardeh credit for staying in the fight.

Maximo Suarez (R2 - TKO) Tural Bayramov - This fight started off strong with both guys looking for the knockout early on. Suarez dropped Tural early on in R1 and it looked like Tural injured his arm at some point. Tural came back for R2 but was unable to continue, giving Maximo the victory.

Andre “Dida” Amade (R3 - Dec.) Li Yankun - This served as Andre Dida's return to professional competition after a few years away from the ring. Needless to say he looked good, but there was some ring rust. Yankun is an up-and-coming Chinese fighter who showed a few flashes of brilliance, but ultimately fell short to Dida.

To be fair, this should come as no surprise given how Badr Hari is still by far the most popular kickboxer on the planet.

Just like Badr Hari has undying support no matter what he does, Buakaw commands the same level of respect from the mentally unfit.

People arguing that Buakaw had clearly won have no clue how K-1 rules work. Muay Thai people that I know who were in the arena said that it didn't matter that Buakaw walked out because many fans had begun filing out believing that Buakaw had handily won the fight.

While Buakaw was controlling the pacing, he landed maybe what, four clean shots all fight? The entirety of the fight he was clinching and dumping Kehl onto the mat. If that was muay thai or even Shoot Boxing that would be great, that's a victory. It was under K-1 rules, though. K-1 is still using the one-handed clinch rule where you can land one knee and that's it. 

The hard truth is that Kehl was getting ragdolled but he landed the cleaner shots throughout the fight. For that alone I understand the draw. 

People are going to hate on K-1 because of FEG, because of the lackluster K-1 Global events and because everyone wants to believe in their heroes, but Buakaw's actions are awful. K-1 Global is clearly trying to land on their feet and turn things around. This show's production values alone blow away anything under the K-1 Global banner and they genuinely tried to book exciting fights with solid talent. 

They've also done many favors for Buakaw, including a hefty signing bonus and paying him the largest fight purse of any fighter they have under contract (at about $65,000 USD). They've paid him in the range of $500,000 since they signed him, all while they were dealing with having to pay other fighters who were stiffed previously (everyone has been paid by this point, apparently). Hell, they booked this show FOR HIM. This show was in Thailand FOR HIM. K-1's big push is currently in China, where they have the best offers and the best chance of building a home base again, so why would they run Thailand in a 4,000 seat arena unless they had a reason like Buakaw?

My god, it's just so frustrating. Kickboxing is on tough times for everyone right now and you have these big name fighters just killing the sport dead while their fans act outraged at the evil promoters for losing millions of dollars to put on these shows to promote the fighters.

It's frustrating though. Cause there really are guys that are getting screwed in fight business despite working their asses off and they deserve ths kind of support but will never get it. Meanwhile you have smart asses like the "Muay Thai God" that will happily play the angle of being poor mistreated kids who honestly just want to fight and represent their nation and all their fans but have evil promoters and managers getting in their way.

So apparently, Buakaw and his team walked out immediately after the third round ended. They spoke with no one, headed into the back, picked up his bags and went to a car that was waiting for him. Literally spoke to no one and had no clue what the outcome of the fight was.

So there goes the whole "well he was upset at the bullshit decision" narrative that his fans are pushing.
