Sadly he is 41 year old and with tons of mileage and is shot. Even if he was back on the juice I'm not giving him much of a chance against the elite ( jamal, rico, benny, badr). In his last few fights in ufc he looked horrendous striking wise... almost like he forgot to punch properly or how to move. Looked like a fish out of the water. I mean he never looked that good striking wise in the ufc, but in his last few fights he looked totally shot. I would rather have him fight morosanu (now that he is coming back), Kemayo, Mohamed Abdallah,Junior Tafa etc... fights that he can be competitive and win. I don't even think he beats the likes of plazibat, Jahfarr Wilnis, Tarik Khbabez,Levi Rigters etc

Long after people considered him 'shot', Aerts defeated a bunch of elite guys including Ben Saddik and Mahieddine well into his 40s.
He also arguably beat Rico at, what, 43?
Not saying Overeem is Aerts, but a change in his fighting style, the addition of horsemeat and the big gloves should make a big difference. His chin was never good, but he was able to overwhelm a lot of guys by simply being 'Ubereem'.
I guess his first fight in Glory will give us a good enough idea of what he's still capable of.

This weekend at Rizin 28, Tenshin is fighting 3 opponents under modified boxing rules: 1 round against Koki Osaki 1 round against Hiroya Kawabe 1 round against Mr. X Each opponent will be at a different weight and different sized gloves will be used for each round. Also backfists and superman punches will be allowed. asianmma.com/tenshin-nasukawa-to-face-three-opponents-at-rizin-28/This is a weird construction that reminds me of Kyshenko facing three opponents in China a while ago. That said, it should be entertaining.

Yeah that didn't seem likely, even for Japan.

El Bouni is back against... Bhugwandass. No the best matchup to hype your PPV card. So.. I kinda forgot about this event. It didn't really get any noteworthy coverage and I couldn't find an official list of results either. I did find this though: And this: Honestly, I kinda disagree with the whole 'controversy' here. To me it looked more like Mufadel was stumbling behind, rather than stepping in there and breaking the fighters up.

The most interesting bit to me here is El Bouni saying he's no longer under contract with ONE.
ONE appears to be increasingly neglecting their kickfighters, so I hope the fighters can manage to cut their losses and get the hell out of dodge.

They've let a couple fighters go that was sorta weird, like Maslobojev and Khbabez. Think pretty much all their fights in ONE were quite fun.

Interesting. Been pretty quiet with 65 kg, but Glory seemingly not letting go of any divisions then. I wonder what their plan is going forward. Get back to doing events about every month, or keep doing this few events a year ppv thing?

Looked into whatever corporate documents there was available on the new Glory. Pierre seems to own 66.75%, Yao Star Sports 18.09% and Prism Finance 12.62% (Rudmann?). Rest are smaller ownerships: Colorado Glory 1.22 %, Nova Ventures Holdings 0.82 % and Scott Rudmann 0.52 %.
The main change from the old Glory seeming to be no Liberty Global anymore. There was also a bunch of generally smaller ownerships by Denver Glory, AAA Glory who exactly those were...Total Sports Asia etc.
Also old WWE CEO dude, Bert van der Ryd, Timmers, Hemmers etc. have any shares anymore.
Only real surprise was the Chinese are still on board, figured they got booted out.

I don't know how the chinese have not managed to build a cooperation with KLF or GoW. They could do mixed Glory-GoW or Glory-KLF events every two months or so in China.
Besides Germany, France, Spain, Russia and Brazil, China is the main market they should focus on. Just forget about the US and be like F-1: One or two events a year on American soil just for the headlines.
