Return to kickboxing please. Saki is getting up there in age and wasted a lot of his prime. He still has a few years left and I'd like to see him finish his career in kickboxing where he may still have a good run.

I don't know how much of a run he might really have left, not looked very good since he fought Spong almost 7 years ago and a lot of talk of injuries. Maybe he's healed up and the surgeries he's had have helped, idk. He's definitely a name to have on a Glory PPV tho

After the ProSport article, I found out from the inside that SuperKombat is coming back at the end of the year. With a foreign board under Irimia, and from the beginning of the summer the tryouts begin.
I guess Europe will be resurrected since Enfusion for some reasons don't attract the whole Holland. Maximum 30% of the Dutch talent.
According to my sources kickboxing will probably return to Eurosport. But SuperKombat will go more global than it was.
I wonder what will be left for ONE if SuperKombat returns.

IIRC there have been rumours of a potential SK comeback for a while now. This is something I would definitely welcome, though I hope it'll end up looking more like SuperKombat 2011-2013 and not so much 2014 onward as the average quality of their events went down dramatically.
As far as EuroSport goes I'm not sure if they do any fightsport coverage at this point, but everytime I zap past it they seem to be airing either tennis or cycling. Very much getting a "rich white people" vibe from it and I don't like it at all.
From the early 2000s up until roughly five years ago EuroSport kickboxing + Fred Royers commentary was easily the best way to watch kickboxing on TV in the Netherlands.
Sure times have changed and the landscape has very much shifted towards streaming, but I personally always liked having consistent TV coverage for kickboxing.
Nowadays Glory is the only kickboxing promotion that gets any TV coverage over here and they have a different network deal every two years or so. On top of that the quality of Dutch commentary leaves a lot to be desired.
So, for the sake of European audiences; bring kickboxing back to EuroSport, even if it's just to have an additional option that gives some much needed coverage to local promotions.
And for the sake of Dutch audiences; bring back Fred Royers - if he's not fully retired from TV.

He's definitely a name to have on a Glory PPV tho I think Saki is in a somewhat similar position to Badr; Great fighter 5-10 years ago, but after a bunch of wasted years and now in his mid 30s grown injury prone. The bitterness over losing to Rico ultimately only hurt him and now he probably realises what a huge waste of time his UFC adventure was. With how shallow the HW talent pool in kickboxing is right now he may just stand a chance - if his body holds up, that is. Of course there's the possibility of Saki moving to LHW, but if his social media posts are anything to go by he's clearly hinting at HW. And yeah, his name headlining a card may sell some PPVs.

The problem that I have with guys like saki continuing fighting is not that they won't be able to win some fights, but that they won't be able to beat the top guys. A fighter of this prestige should not continue to the point he becomes mediocre.

So, for the sake of European audiences; bring kickboxing back to EuroSport.
EuroSport meant K-1. The Discovery group now has "archery".

EuroSport meant K-1, but also SuperLeague, LocalKombat, SuperKombat, KOK, a little bit of MMA, some Boxing, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Grappling etc.
They covered a wide variety of fight competition. Their big martial arts program during the early-mid 2000s was 'Fight Club' by Samuel Pagal. Of course many of the big events weren't live and you had to wait a few weeks for them, but when they showed up it was great and they had a lot of extra's like backstage interviews, fighter profiles etc.
Nowadays FightBox has a bit of a similar feel EuroSport once had, but it doesn't reach as many households and isn't nearly as well known.

Was going to make the same comment about fightbox.
Clueless about Eurosport now, don't watch a whole lot of regular tv. I wish luck to SK, but think IF Glory went back to tv in some form they'd be a better fit at some kind of ~monthly event pace. Wouldn't mind if they brought in SK and maybe KOK and/or Enfusion too for weekly or bi-weekly fight broadcasts.

It was also confirmed 3 days ago in Arad Online. Welterweight, 13-0 (9 KOs), I guess he will not fight in the Middleweight.

A matchup that's been hinted at multiple times over the past few weeks. While I believe the fight comes a few years too late for JWP, it could still end up being entertaining.
