Wasn't nearly as boring a presser as I thought it would be. Not that it was great either, but I suppose they can spin that into some attention. When van Soest asked her question, Rigters thought RISE is a Chinese promotion and JBS thought she is fighting a ONE champion JBS Glory marketing jab was nice.

Think some of the KOK people said Russians can't fight on events in the Baltic countries at least.
Maslobojev is scheduled to fight on KOK the same day as G80. Wonder if Glory could require him to drop out of that event and fight against Tavares instead?

Catchweight then? Or rather open weight I guess. Khbabez is a smaller HW, but he's got some flab and I'm not sure they can meet halfway in two weeks time.

Andurand seems to like Vakhitov, but still a bit surprising if true.

I fully expected Glory to not have Vakhitov on and they'd try and make another matchup. Tavares vs Khbabez/Duut was rumoured....but for Tavares to himself opt-out makes very little sense to me.
Think I'll just look at this as him having gotten injured and instead of pulling out for that reason, try and score some brownie points with the Ukraine aspect.

Glory's statement on the situation: Not really sure what's pulling out going to accomplish, but if Tavares is serious about this I respect it. Here's the thing though: I can't shake the feeling that the Ukraine/Russia situation doesn't really have anything to do with it other than being a convenient excuse to hide something else. Either way, I actually think Khbabez vs. Vakhitov is a more exciting matchup. Glory really likes Tavares, but has he ever looked great in any of his fights both inside and outside of Glory? I can't really recall any examples.

I hope Tavares loses his TS.
I also agree that Khbabez vs Vakhitov is more exciting.

Come on Glory, make another 4 man heavyweight tournament, Ben Saddick, Overeem, Badr and Rico so you can save Glory 80!
