Started the year off right binging season 3 of Cobra Kai and I can't believe how awesome it was!

I did not like Godzilla 1 & 2, but I did like Kong: Skull Island.
If this can deliver some kick-ass kaiju fights I'll be satisfied.

Watched The Little Things last night and can definitely recommend it if you're into 90s style police thrillers.

As a true superhero nut I'm really looking forward to this.

It's gonna be so much better than the 2017 version.
If you've closely followed this thread or read my rant in the general chat a few years ago you know I'm a big fan and defender of Zack Snyder and think he and his films get an incredible amount of undeserved hate.
Man of Steel and Batman v Superman (the extended cut) are my favorite comic book films and I wish Snyder got the opportunity to fully realise his vision for the DC universe. Unfortunately, Warner Bros. is a horribly reactionary studio ran by suits that dropped Snyder at the first sign of trouble which resulted in the unorganised mess of a cinematic universe we have now.
At least the outcry was powerful enough for us to at least get the real Justice League a month from now and I can't wait.

Agree. I mean, I still watched the Justice League but after all is said and done, it just wasn't a good movie. Glad the man got to finally realise his own vision. Hope I'll like it. I like solo working heroes but nothing beats teamwork, probably why I always liked X-Men, Avengers or Justice League so much But overall, it's hard to get a satisfying comic book movie. Mostly after watching I'm "yeah, it wasn't bad but there's potential for something so much better".

While I do enjoy all the cinematic universes to some extent, many of their movies follow the exact same formula and therefore feel very samey / repetitive. They're dumbed down to the point where you can barely tell who directed them, because they have to appeal to the largest possible audience for maximum box office results. More often than not they're very 'safe' movies.
Of course even safe, dumbed down movies can be enjoyable as long as they're well executed, but the formula does get a bit old after a while.
I somewhat enjoyed the 2017 Justice League for what it was; a hacked up Frankenstein project trying to be an Avengers-clone. And how couldn't it be? They brought in Joss Whedon - who directed the first two Avengers films - to take over after Snyder was done with most of the filming. Of course the movie was never going to meet its true potential.
Here's hoping the long wait will pay off.

Rewatched Coming to America last night and Coming 2 America just now and I have to say the very, very late sequel did not disappoint.
While it's not quite as good as the original it has enough quality and effort put into it to be worthwhile. The sparce emotional moments are surprisingly effective and there is a good mix of throwbacks and original jokes. All the cameo returns are great too.

It was epic. 4 hours of film comes with a lot to digest, but this is definitely what Justice League should have been from the start.

Saw Godzilla vs. Kong last night and it was decent!
The story was expectedly over the top and there were - again - some human storylines I didn't really care for, but the fights were entertaining and it had some cool visuals which is pretty much all I wanted from this movie.
