My condolences man. Hopefully the non-main/co-mains drag out to decision town and buy you time. Finally tonight! That said I don't see how McGregor is coming out on top of this though. Those awkward long limbs of Diaz, his loopy swinging style... Nate has the perfect style for dominating the water bottle throwing contest that I presume this is going to be.

I sure hope so lol. thanks.
and agree with conor coming out on top. I think he does better. but im kind of on the same page as everybody publishing predictions. diaz subs him in round 3 or 4. conor has to play a near perfect game to win this. and I don't think he can do that. hes going to get punched at some point and I don't think he can keep his mind right when that happens. hes going to freak out again.

I'm hoping and praying for a Diaz win. But, I think somehow, some way McGregor will pull it out of the bag. New ownership will be gagging for that Irish money going forward. In my deep paranoia, I can see Diaz getting busted open and John McCarthy taking him over to the doctor and applying subtle pressure on him "It sure looks bad there, Doc. Whaddya think, should we call it off?" McCarthy knows the lay of the land and if anybody saw his dubious officiating of the Matt Mitrione-Carl Seumanutafa fight for Bellator in June, with Mitrione's next opponent just happening to be waiting cage side for the bout to be revealed after Mitrione scored the win, could hopefully share the same view.
With White trying to peddle the absurd "Jon didn't take the PED's knowingly" excuse over the last couple of days, It looks like management are going to peddle and condone the boner pill excuse for Jones and attempt to fiddle it that way so that somehow he will be back in time for the New York debut in November, that is currently looking like a giant bust without any marquee names on it. So it would not surprise me to see McG get favourable treatment tonight. He was sorted out with some kind of special gym for him to train in for this fight by the UFC I believe, I don't think they did anything similar for Diaz.

Close, close fight. Really entertaining, too.
I was a little worried the judges would give Diaz the second round. Conor knocked him down several times in this round, but Diaz applied a lot of pressure at the end of the second and the crowd went crazy. I mean, crazy to think that in a boxing or kickboxing bout this would be like a 10-7 round. Oh, and one judge apparently gave a round a draw- WOW! (referring to the fact that they usually never do this)
This is how I saw it:
1. Conor 2. Conor 3. Diaz 4. Basically a draw for me, could have gone either way 5. Diaz
All 10-9. So I had it 47-47 too.
I wonder if we see a rubber match. It would make sense, but Conor would have to vacant his featherweight title for sure.
Also props to Cowboy Cerrone.. maaad combination right there.

Very good show overall, great main event.
I thought McG-Diaz2 was really close and I'd have to rewatch for more accuracy, but I thought McGregor took rounds 1 and 4 while Diaz took rounds 3 and 5. I think round 2 is the one that's up for debate: did Conor take the round based on the knockdowns or did Nate take it based on the strong finish?
I have no problem with Conor getting the nod and regardless on which side of the fence you're on I can't imagine anyone with half a brain calling this a robbery or controversial decision. It was a really close fight.
While I was definitely rooting for Diaz, at the moment it's hard to hate on either fighter after such a performance.
As for the rest of the card: Johnson straight up murdered Teixeira, wow! Cerrone's finishing combination was poetry in motion. Why do Asian fighters always lose in the UFC (at least when I watch)?

I think the reason why this wasn't bigger news is that officially "UFC Gym" is a seperate cooperation who bought the rights to the name "UFC". So technically it wasn't the UFC who bought the gym for Conor. Of course, we don't know how involved Zuffa was with that decision though. In general I think it would be pretty shitty for a promotion to help a fighter out with stuff like this, as it would be clear favorism.
