50/50 you're all nazis and you can't prove otherwise!!111 Look, I'm not saying that Todd has had a Hitler Youth haircut, but I'm not saying he didn't, either. Sure, it was probably just a take on the Rico Verhoeven cut, which was a take on the Macklemore, but Macklemore legitimately cut his hair to not look like Richard Spencer anymore. Your move, kickboxing.

The card isn't the greatest. Marcus-Pereira is good and they got the "mid level" Chinese talent in there but they're missing a Chinese name. One of the 5 tigers (QJL, Wei Rui etc.), Fang Bian...just someone. Yang Zhuo was at the presser and he'd do just fine if he got added later on.
...
Not that it's a terrible terrible card but the mood I'm getting is a little "well there's a lot of Chinese on it so it's fine". Like saying well there's Americans on the US events so must mean Americans will care. I don't think that's how it works...So yeah scratch that off to some extent. The rest of the card filled up with just about as top tier sanda fighters as they get. Does it mean it's a great kickboxing card, who knows, we'll see I guess. At least it makes sense for China now. Ye Xiang vs Junior Tafa Ye Xiang probably the best Chinese HW out there. Blew away Steven Banks on Kunlun, he had fought 2 or 3 days prior so maybe wasn't in his greatest condition. Again does this mean he is a great in kickboxing, I don't know. Outside of a Taishan Dong which would be towards the freak fights end of things, Ye is at least the best Chinese HW I've seen. Was on some 2016 list of ~essential sanda fighters of our time among 5 other guys from other weight classes. Xie Lei vs. Pet Sanda creds, fought on K-1 China. Fu Gaofeng vs. Khayal Dzhaniev Sanda creds, has beaten (I think) Bai Jinbin of brief liverkick rankings fame. Also nice they're getting at the very least 2 tough fights against Pet and Khayal so it's not just can crushy either.

Ye Xiang? They have been doing some homework. Good signing, providing they can keep him for a period of time.

Maybe the expert critique on social media helped make the changes happen. Either way good development.

Probably not The active sanda fighters are basically always one offs and they just yank them out mid tournaments or whatever, doesn't seem to matter. Glory being willing to do an actual sanda rules match on the event probably helped things along but I wouldn't think this to be a great ongoing partnership that'd just work without a hitch.

Is anybody hyped for this?
I just realized this starts at 4am for me, which is ridiculous.

Sure. Interesting to see if it's a different Glory. It's China so I'm expecting big LED screens goddamnit!
That fight pass start time for American customers though...

Is anybody hyped for this? I just realized this starts at 4am for me, which is ridiculous. I used to be really excited in the early days of Glory that somebody was there to unfuck kickboxing and get it in front of more eyeballs. Then they lost their ass on PPVs with no audience and silly stuff like the Tokyo heavyweight tournament and an endless series of 4 man tournaments that I stopped caring about. I really haven't gotten excited about anything they've done since the very obvious budget cuts came along. I'm a guy that used to pay for It's Showtime too. Wish them the best and all but I'll only catch something from this card if I hear somewhere that a specific fight was good.

Well that sucks. Joys of pro Sanda fighters. Could have some small injury from Sanda Worlds a little over a week ago I guess and maybe they're prioritizing just making sure he'll make the Sanda fights he'll have 2 weeks after the Glory event.
Don't really know this new guy but seems to have lost to Hong-Man Choi in MMA 2 years ago + I have very little trust in rando Chinese HW's so not expecting too much.

So this is happening on Saturday. Definitely giving this the benefit of the doubt since Glory 45 earned them a lot of credit, just.. please don't be Glory 44!

I'm having a hard time even pretending to care about this.
I was doing an interview with Scott Rudmann last night and he cut me short because he was at dinner with his girlfriend and I'm just entirely fine if this never gets finished and I can just take a million naps instead.

This even within the confines of just this event isn't that interesting. Basically just want to see if it's actually an opening of something new for them or they got some Chinese money so do an event in China type of thing.

Yeah.
They don't have a regular TV deal because of a week-long state-run event in China for this show, so it'll only be on digital platforms, which I guess is pretty okay, but not great?
The card is actually really good and their Chinese talent scouts did a good job, I'm just disinterested. Never mind the fact it's at FOUR AM for me. I used to be able to stay up to weird hours to do whatever, but with kids now to do that I essentially have to sacrifice a night's sleep for that, which, lol, no.

Oh nice they're at least streaming it in China now. Checked their listings a few days ago and wasn't there then. Was wondering if they're doing it Topking style of just running events in China and not showing them anywhere
