Great 1000th post! I got my K-1 shows special ordered through a shop downtown that sold anime in the 90's after my karate instructor let me borrow a few tapes and told me where he got them. That story makes me feel like I'm watching an 80s movie!

...and I lied. But did a low effort fun one. The Koji vs Urabe Hirotaka Presser which was comedy gold I noticed that K-1 Japan actually allows community CC subtitle submissions. I've uploaded a version of the video on my channel unlisted while the approval is going through, but hopefully if they approve my CC contributions that means I can just add to their content directly. Not sure how I missed this but thats awesome that you can add ccs. Yours was synched up perfectly.

Some 'quick' comments (that'll end up taking me over an hour to write):
- Wei Rui's punishment fits the crime. You're putting your opponent at a disadvantage so the playing field should be levelled. Coming in well overweight is inexcusable. It's not like Wei Rui weighed in 10 grams over the limit. Having said that I'm happy the fight isn't completely cancelled (yet).
As for the good ol' racial hatred: it's the internet, do we really expect anything better? I sure don't: It's people. People are horrible. Especially on the internet. Best to just ignore it.
- Production values look promising. To be honest though I also like the plain and simple K-1 shows that some of you find boring. I find the Japanese have a sense of style that you can't put a price on. As someone who probably scores pretty high on the 'Otaku-scale' I guess I'm predisposed to liking Japanese things.
- Kido put a smile on my face again. What did he give his opponent?
- Finally read the interview with Takeru and it's great. He's much smarter than I gave a kid his age credit for.

The Spanish guy fighting Kido looks a lot like Jack Dempsey.

The community arena just looks like a flat grey box The earlier shows were quite basic but totally fine, that venue looks pretty good for fighting at least when it was packed every time.

I've been to the community arena. While it has some saving graces (e.g. the long walkout ramp), its sorta awkward cause you have all the bench seats on one side and just a wall on another. Very uneven. And as you said, its sorta bland. Everything is just this greenish gray and the sunlight comes in in the earlier parts of the event that gives it a prison gymnasium feel, The Yoyogi Gymnasium and the Budokan were my favorites. Even though Yoyogi 2 was small, its super packed with 4-5K people just curled around the ring (15K in multi layers for the Budokan). You heard the audience become one and explode back in there. Everything was super dark and dramatic which contributed to the underground feel of the first few events But if they can pull of Saitama Super Arena, hey I'll take that. Though K'Festa 2 better be in the Tokyo Dome

Oh! I looked into this because I'm stateside this event. There's apparently a service that lets you sign up to watch a free trial that gets you Gaora. No Abema + vpn nonsense needed (thanks Grabaka Hitman) Reminder! Just signed up there and seems to work well. Should also be a China stream with QJL on commentary at: live.qq.com/directory/game/Fight
