Speaking of Rena, I just read on efight that this is gonna be her MMA debut. And with no other specific mention of Kickboxing, looks like this is just MMA only.

So Pride 2.0 is officially called "Rizin"? Will all be MMA fights or will it be a Dynamite type of card? Also, Is Fedor VS Jaideep a single fight or part of the tournament? Yeah, Rizin Fighting Federation is the orgs name I believe. Rizin pronounced Rising, as in to rise up. As Shadess said KOK were announced, and I think they also announced Bushido (I don't know what org that is... is that the Lithuanian event?). Rena from Shoot Boxing's there so looks to be mixed MMA and Kick... No other fights apart from Aoki-Sakuraba have been announced. Fedor appears to be part of the tournament.

Can't expect to get big ratings with 25-30 minute programming but the aim now is probably to get some people to look more kindly at kakutougi events, maybe get some bigger sponsors or make some TV execs aware and maybe sparkle some interest, compared to gaining some TV foothold to try and best your competition. Let's see what comes of it. I think it'll be really interesting to see what kind of sponsors they can attract. If they're well into the run and the only sponsors they have are their own event and a supplement company, a la UFC, then alarm bells may start ringing.

Fuji TV willing to work with Sakakibara after his Yakuza involvement? Exactly. Who know's what'll happen. TV's a very fickle business though, and enough time's past so...

Me too.
Fight sports have gradually been creeping their way back on to TV in Japan of late. There was Ganryujima on Fuji TV NEXT, Pancrase have been showing digest shows at like 2am on Tokyo TV, the weekly Road to UFC Japan (Japanese TUF) again on TV Tokyo, and this Saturday & Sunday TBS Channel 2 will be broadcasting last months "Girls S-Cup" and "30th Anniversary Caesar Time" events from Shoot Boxing.
And with the new NYE event featuring Fedor rumoured to be on Fuji TV it seems momentums building.
